Cap, I'd just like to say thank you. I'm a high school senior and recently my life has been one major snowball effect where everything has been going down hill. Mental health has plummeted but in my search for anything to help get me to sleep or keep me grounded, your channel popped into my recommendations and has helped immensely to keep my spirits up in the face of everything, you've even gotten me back into the hobby in a way. To be completely honest (and I know it's a little cheesy) your cheerful spirit and passion for a hobby like this has saved many bad days from getting a whole lot worse and made me smile throughout it all. I know you might not see this, but if you do just know you're a great guy who's helped a poor schmuck like me crawl my way slowly from rock bottom, so again, thank you.

Should one do a "cleaning" maintenance on blasters, and ammo delivering system, ie. magazines, cylinders, clips, and/or belt chains, after getting back home from an event prior to storing if it's not going to be used for a lengthy amount of time (what is a lengthy amount of time) to avoid build up of "dart dust" on flywheels and brass barrels? Or would cleaning it up just a few days, or to a week, prior to the start of an event be sufficient, just to ensure the blaster and magazine, cylinders, clips, and/or belt chains are working properly? Thanks.

Did I not mention that in the video? Thought I did. It might not have made the edit. Anyway, yes, also service you year after an event. Make sure nothing is primed, remove the batteries, empty your mags, clean them, etc.

Stuff that does not damage rubber

I heard Silicone grease or White Lithium Grease are supposedly safe for plastic/rubber. Don't get the spray, because they evaporate after a month or something. I'm not an expert and only opened up a few blasters before, so if your blaster ends up like swiss cheese, please don't kill me. In fact, safest bet is buy it from Out of Darts or Foamblast or etc. Those guy know a lot more about Nerf than me and are quite well-respected within the Nerf community.

Silicone lubricant is the best from my experience. White lithium grease tends to go bad over time leaving a nasty mess. Stay away from anything petroleum based as well as aerosol spray cans. I use Oatey’s Silicone Grease that I bought at Lowe’s.

I read all of the OSU rules and still wasn't sure exactly what to bring and you helped me allot in clarify ing what is good to bring with your previous years of experience, I hope to see you there! PS: I wasn't sure if they allowed half-length darts since it didn't clarify that on the rules list ( which probably means they aren't, but still) do they allow half-length darts at their events now?

one thing i noticed, although not relevent to anything, but useful, is that when one wraps 2 or 3 wraps of yarn around the barrel attachment, it stiffens up the barrels and they dont wobble as much.

@@Boomstickmods Spring Thunder is a cool gun. I have gotten to Nerf with the guy who made it. I remember taking a shot point blank from a singles shell right to the forehead that stung. He use to live in around Massachusetts for collage, but moved back to upstate New York after he graduated. Only time i have seen him come back is for these crazy HVZ that get run around here kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJmpdJuMg9Cje6c . He hands out 3d Printed Spring Thunder Key Chains, and cards on how to order the gun. So he jokes that he gets to right off the cost of attending these HVZS as a business expenses.

Condor has larger sizes I believe. And most are adjustable. Worst case you can extend the straps to make them fit.

I have a while video on starting Nerf events. Location is usually the biggest hurdle. Without knowing your location I can't give much in the way of advice. City parks usually allow Nerf bit always check with the city first. Schools will sometimes allow it.
