I second that. The staff is everything and I commend you all for always doing amazing jobs. I always tell people they haven’t experienced real customer service wu til they’ve been on a cruise and if I had a business that’s how I would want them to treat customers. It must be soooo hard at times keeping your cool but somehow everyone manages and that is what makes cruise ship staff second to none in any industry. Cheers to you all! My daughters are on Harmony right now and I know they are being treated like queens and I can’t thank the staff enough! 😘

@@mychrome Well said! Many years ago I worked in restaurants and I can say from experience that while some of the staff held themselves to the standards I've encountered on cruises, many more did not. And yes -- it is often very hard to keep one's cool, but I've watched the cruise staff members do it again and again Hats off to all of them!

Lol 😆 however ...I felt exactly the same but my daughter wanted to go on a Disney cruise for her high school graduation and the fact that she actually wanted to cruise 🛳w my husband and I made me think uuuuhhhhh how many years do we have that she will want to do stuff w us. Long story short, doctor gave us the sea sick patch and me pills for sea sickness. We got a cabin on a bottom floor in the middle of the ship. I never even had a second of sickness. Mind u ...if I ride 10 miles in the back seat of a car I get sick lol 😆🙃😅 we did have rough seas one night but I had no issues at all and the trip ended up being one of my top 10 experiences of my life. I share this to encourage u to try one ...a few years AFTER covid

I get seasick on smaller boats (and Ive begun to get carsick on a regular basis as well. Ugh. So maybe it’s motion sickness and not just seasick? Lol) but I’ve never gotten seasick on a cruise ship, even during times we’ve skirted a storm or sailed through one. There was only one time I got queasy and that was on a Princess cruise where they were using a lifeboat as a tender on a day where the seas were kind of rough. I can understand your not wanting to get anywhere near a cruise ship though. Haha
@NoDontLikeIt3 жыл бұрын
@@designdoctor247 same here, but I get carsick in the front passenger seat too, lol(although maybe that’s just a result of my mom’s driving?😂). I’ve never been seasick on a cruise ship even though I have gotten seasick on smaller, personal boats. The one time I got queasy was when the cruise ship was using a lifeboat as a tender and the seas were extremely rough-but my mom kept reminding me to breathe and nattered on about nothing to distract me and I made it through without incident.

I am glad you showed us how to wear a life jacket!!! The only cruise my wife and I ever took was in 2010 on the Liberty of the Seas and they didn't wait for us to get there to do the muster drill! We were stuck "in trafic" and by the time we were able to push through the droves of people and got to "C10" the demonstration was over! There was no crew around to show us anything. We were very disappointed and truly a bit concerned because my wife does not swim and is very afraid of water. Had a tragedy happened during our cruise like it did only a year and a half later on the Costa Concordia, we would not have been prepared. I am glad that muster drills are now mandatory and they take attendance. I'm glad you mentioned it's hard to see the video and the person showing how to put on the life jacket during the muster drill on the Oasis of the Seas. I say this because we are sailing on the Allure of the Seas for its transatlantic crossing in March 2020. I showed this part of your video to my wife so she now knows how to put on the life jacket. So THANK YOU for showing us this very important detail!!! By God's grace we will never need to use the life jackets, but it is better to be overly prepared than be ignorant.

I have a few questions. Towards where you head lays. Is there at least a small window for you to see what’s outside? At least that way you didn’t feel to isolated. Are crew members allowed to bring gaming systems to use. I know occasionally for me sometimes I like to enjoy a game after a long work day. Do you know any crew members who brought any of the systems onboard? Are you allowed to have other crew members in your cabin for get togethers or dates or anything or is it strictly only you and your roommate? Are you allowed on your days off to wonder the ship and enjoy the things that guest do? What is management usually like for crew members? How long are you on a ship for? Are you allowed to get off the ship to see the islands or countries you visit? How much do you get paid and what benefits or discounts do you get? What are the pros and cons of being an employee for royal Caribbean because I’ve considered applying for Royal years ago and always wondered what it was like. It is really cool though and quite nice to see that Royal Caribbean gives there employees nice accommodations. I’ve been on plenty of cruises thanks to my parents. I’ve been on the explorer, oasis, allure and we’ve done one carnival cruise which honestly I love Royal. But, I have huge respect for you and the many other hard working people who make the ship function. Because it takes a strong person to leave family and friends for extended periods of time to provide the wonderful hospitality to guest. Thank you for all you do on Royal Caribbean!

Those crew cabin TVs are much newer than when I was a crew member on Oasis. Goes to show how cheap TVs are these days. When I worked on Voyager up to 2012 the TVs were mostly 13" CRT with no special features. On Oasis we had TVs that were about 19" plus a large bezel.

Awesome video bro. I loved your video and of course it was great to show the life jacket cause you never know when you may have an emergency. I really want this life and to make a career out of it, I'm so sick of my current life and I just really need a change. Sharing a cabin isnt something I'd really wanna deal with because of lack of privacy some of the time, but it would be worth it to have the opportunity to make this a reality. I've read that you have to work long hours without days off, and yet theres videos of employees able to get out and about when the ship docks at the ports, so you dont miss out on port days right? Do you get to enjoy a day out along with other passengers and employees? Because that would be awesome. Right now though I don't have much money, so I'd have to save up in order to take a plane over to florida to get to a cruise (thats if i got hired) which I do have experience in cleaning and customer service. There's a lot I need to learn before I make the big life change, if anyone has any tips it would be greatly appreciated!

Cool video I was on Oasis in December with my wife and we loved it. We met so may awesome crew members, one that really stood out was enesa panjeta. She was the sweetest. If you know her tell her hill’s say we miss here.

The private tv is really awesome, I was a crew member on Liberty and the tv noise bothered me a lot 😜

This is the only ship I've been on where the TV is at the end of the bed. I think it's on Oasis class only.
