Customer service is not for the faint hearted. Hand of God a customer asked me to make a hot iced Mocha, with no ice… they legit said “add ice, but don’t put any ice in the hot mocha…” apparently she wanted a cup of ice on the side of the iced mocha…which is doable, but how in the name of heaven was I supposed to gauge that from “a hot iced mocha with no ice” ????

I once went on a private boat charter many years ago with family. It was no where near as high tier as Below Decks and the crew were utter gems. They looked after us so well and we had a good laugh with them and treated them with the respect they were due. I used to always be up the earliest and as i was pretty good at making coffee (with the leaf patters etc) i used to make coffee not just for my family but for the crew as well which they loved. Ive seen so many episodes of BD where the guests are nightmares. Its the old saying that money can't buy class.

No. But the amount they pay buys them the possibility to be pretty much as unclassy as they like. For a thousand bux tip, you just suck it up. I had an old-fashioned service training. The customer, no matter how unrefined, is always right. You actually feel and appear very superior when you respond to rudeness with calm pleasantness.

Then was even called out by her friends taking staff side like no u did tell them that making it clear it’s on her that she was like just forget it! I know someone who says they don’t like X but they actually do, just say that so we would get her 1st choice she wanted. But maybe it’s a ED, though I don’t understand how because it brought more attention it her and her meal.

It is a deeper issue than the crew of this yacht should have to deal with. This woman could not recall what she had told her friends and what she had told the crew, then cried about everything. She likely has an unhealthy relationship with food. But she filled out the form for dietary requirements and preferences, then walked back on several items. Frankly, if I was working as the chef on this yacht, this guest would be served the fanciest “Water and Bread” menu I could create for being such a choosing beggar with that much money.

I was on a flight once sitting in Economy! Just behind me was a rather posh lady who was ‘huffing and puffing’ and complaining to the stewardesses about every minor detail(of which she had no justification ).This was really bugging the rest of the passengers and myself! Eventually I couldn’t take anymore and stood up and shouted “If you wanted first class service why didn’t you pay the money for a first class ticket and stop annoying the rest of us on this flight” Other passengers began to clap and for the rest of the flight she was as meek as a lamb. When I got off the flight the crew looked and nodded in appreciation! Some people just need to be brought down a peg or two! 😂

When I had to fill one of these out I told them I wanted to try the best local dishes of the region we were cruising. My parents were the primary guests though so they really had the final day even though they bugged me for weeks to fill out the preference sheet online.

how could captain sandy defend hannah? hannah had drugs (valium) that she did not have a prescription for, which is illegal. it is on video. the captain has no choice but to follow the law. what do you suggest the captain could have or should have done? and hannah knew what she did was illegal. hannah's actions could have gotten the boat impounded, sandy's captain's license revoked, cost the crew their jobs, and had all the guest's charters cancelled.

@@fransmith8992 she did have a prescription, and she had mentioned to Malia before. Malia purposely went to Hannah's cabin, played everything out and took a picture, then sent it to Captain Sandy. Why didn't she mention something the first time she saw it? She only did what she did to be vindictive because Hannah wouldn't switch cabins so she could sleep with her boyfriend. Even Captain Lee said it was handled wrong and would not have done what Sandy did, and he's a far better Captain then Sandy will ever be.
