great video. Love crewe. One of the few stations where there is usually something happening

Brilliant video; I didn't realise that 86s were still in use. The steam engine's silence reminds me of how annoying it is in old films when they chuff INTO a station!

Thanks, only a handful left for passenger working. The Freightliner ones are still in full force earning their keep.

Great stuff there, it's almost like it's good ol' early 2000s with the 86s hauling MkI and MkII stock. Especially with '101 there with the Virgin mkIIs, in a similar fashion to when they did Birmingham to Glasgow runs...The rest is great. I didn't have as much luck as others have especially you here. I went back in February during the bustle of the G&SW diverts and there wasn't much rarities at all safe from the odd DRS 57 and an Arriva 67. I suppose the only major oddity was the GatEx 387/2 on test. Want to go back sometime if I can find a good advance deal again!

Thanks, this particular day was a great day for both heritage and current traction working together. Crewe is really hit and miss to be honest. Some days can be simply fantastic, other days can be crap to be honest. I'd pop Stafford in the future, much better for a full day.

"Galatea's" shed plate (Built Crewe 1936) says it all. Quality, style, longevity, Stanier, Crewe!

Nice video from a soggy Crewe station are they using the ticket barriers yet
@BlackCombeRunnerKarl8 жыл бұрын
+Paul Cartlidge Yes, and since the end of January the ticket barriers are in use....you might be lucky some days when they leave the gates open, but were closed the last time I was in Crewe ten weeks ago.
@gregster2958 жыл бұрын
+Paul Cartlidge Thanks Paul, as BlackCombeRunnerKarl says, barriers are installed and in use each day every day. Although early morning, late evening they may not be.

The railway station is the best part of Crewe, the town outside of it is a complete waste of space
@danielsellers87072 жыл бұрын
Apart from the railway museum; I liked the demonstration signal box & Crewe was one of the first museums I remember visiting with hands-on exhibits. Good collection of diesel & electric locos but short of covered accommodation. If it wasn't for HS2 then the disused part of the station would make a good railway museum extension...
