Are the 86s redundant or for scrapping? if redundant we should get more freight off the roads and onto the railways like they do in other countries.

Very enjoyable viewing. So many loco's and liveries. The 47 was still the best looking, even if she is a bit oil stained . Surprised how quick some of the trains pass through the yard,, must've been brew time for the driver. Would love to see the HOBC working. See what you can do Phil. It's a like from me . Surely there's a quicker and more efficient way of loading aggregate trains than one bucket load at a time.
@neilcrawford83032 жыл бұрын
These wagons are for engineering works on the railway, not commercial movement of aggregates, it's track ballast. The wagons would get used at the weekends on track replacement work, so having an expensive high volume loading facility isn't necessary or financially viable. All that requires is one excavator, one operator and some diesel. Also, there are various types of wagon used, so a fixed piece of loading equipment may not be suitable. They'll load them up during the week, then from Friday evening and through the weekend they'll head out to the site. Most commercial quarries are equipped with rapid loading facilities for the bulk movement of construction aggregates, sand, limestone etc
