Enjoyed the video. I grew up in Crewe. But the actual town centre is about a mile north of the railway station/Nantwich Road!

Good video, but as has been pointed out the actual town centre is about a mile north of where you were. Mind you you wouldn't have seen anything because most of it has been demolished recently and the rest is mostly closed shops. Merlin engines were made at the RR factory on Pymms Lane during the war and not far away were the railway engine works making and repairing steam engines, sadly all gone. The RR factory is now owne by VW manufacturing Bentley cars. Crewe missed a lot of the bombing due to being in a valley plus it had barrage balloons, however the balloons were brought down at lunchtime and it was then that a lone bomber got through and bombed close to RR doing a small amount of damage.
