In GT this was the reason why Hardik worked as a captain. They were all players who wanted to prove a point. Mostly experienced players. GT's emergence as a strong team was due to the presence of an established all rounder in hardik pandya who donned the hat of an anchor giving more freedom to other batters to play aggresively and world class bowler who regularly took wickets and cramped the opposition i.e Shami. Due to the absence of both and over dependence on a young captain who has rarely fired with the bat this season led down the team which is currently languishing at the bottom.
