This shows how worthless the batting in cricket is. No reverse swing in ODIs, field restrictions, broader bats made the batsmen weak. No one has patience, nobody wants to grind. Test cricket is not dying, Test cricketers are.
@No3N3MY3 күн бұрын
Yeah, the intent to grind on the pitch has been vanishing quite rapidly. Especially with global leagues happening all around the globe. The run scoring in shorter format is becoming easier by each passing day , thus they find it extremely difficult to even trust their defensive ability in the purest format of cricket (which basically has faded away).
@kaulsam20123 күн бұрын
The pitch deviation on day 1 was almost a degree more than the last 25 years. Fresh drop in pitch and underprepared due to rain and teams now all over the world have quality 3-4 bowlers not 1-2 like before also the ball did not soften either. There can't be any "grinding" in such conditions. Same batters against a team with probably 2 good bowlers and you will see higher scores
@kaulsam20123 күн бұрын
All the thoughts are nostalgic. Except the Aussies most attacks in late 90 early 2000 had one or 2 quality fast bowlers. Quality of attacks in the last 10 years is very different. Also with WTC teams are designing result oriented pitches which also makes batting Harder.

Letting Marnus Labuschagne survive on 0 turned out to be a blessing in disguise for India. His time at the crease disrupted Australia’s momentum, slowed down the scoring rate, and gave Indian bowlers the chance to settle into their rhythm. As wickets began to fall at the other end, Labuschagne’s innings ended up costing just 2 runs..a small price to pay for regaining control...

I think one thing to learn from today's batting performance for India is that our Indian player should play their natural game, not too defensive, must not miss the bad deliveries and punish their mistakes. Because runs have to come from somewhere. They're leaving the good deliveries and its fine but they were also missed the bad deliveries too especially one of those deliveries going in leg side or full length deliveries outside off stump. Any delivery which is not targetting the stumps or on full length, they should go for it. It's better to take chances on such deliveries rather than playing shot out of desperation after too many dot balls & throwing away your wicket eventually. Also, this type of batting will also push Australian bowlers on backfoot and ruin their line and length.

17 wickets in a single day at Perth is astonishing... But if the same thing happens on the subcontinent tracks, it's a disaster.. the cricketing world starts speaking about poor pitches curated to suit home teams..... Reality is that, the batters have lost the art of staying on the pitch and capitalizing when the bowlers are tired....

GILLY SPEAKING TRUTH ❤ - In such challenging conditions - i think Test cricket will/could not last for 4/5 days........ It’s a 2nd innings shootout now. Australia will come hard bowling in the second innings and look to blow India the same way India did it to them. Can the top 4 of India, Rahul- Kohli in particular can get one partnership at the top? That will decide the match. The pitch will have pace and bounce throughout and chasing anything over 200 will be very tough considering how Bumrah and company are bowling.

@himanshusachdev92133 күн бұрын
There is nothing awful about the pitch, the batsmen are just losing the art of playing tests and cant apply themselves if it swings or bounces a little bit more than usual.
@nayamsharjeelrafique3693 күн бұрын
@himanshusachdev9213 in that case the same standard should apply when the pitch spins a little extra from day 1 itself. And btw this is pitch doctoring. They have left a little too much spice on the pitch or else these international batsmen are not that bad that they won't be able to survive even a session. Aus had doctored the Brisbane pitch as well a couple of years ago and lost 5 wickets chasing 36. It is just that when they do it apologists like you defend them.
@himanshusachdev92133 күн бұрын
@@nayamsharjeelrafique369 what apologists, what is the pitch doing that makes it a doctored pitch according to you. I hope the batting on day 2 justifies that for you.
