Great tutorial. As a top order batsman I have a question though. You mentioned not to open too early rather to play with shoulder/ side on. There is another term in cricket called ‘play late / let the ball come to you’ . Did you mean the same thing here while playing swing (specially outswing) ? Thanks

The bottom hand excessive use will anyhow result in 'Squared On" position and also playing far from the body. But, yes especially while playing a swing, one has to play late to avoid missing the ball or giving an edge. Here, remaining side on means more of top hand pick. I hope I have replied to your answer. Batting is all about you reflexes, how quickly you you transfer the weight to back foot or on front foot, one thing he rightly said that play swing balls closer to body as much as you can, one more thing your head position is very important while meeting the ball with the bat your head should still..

Sir my head is usually straight in the start of the innings bt after playing few outswing deliveries it starts tipping over and then it becomes difficult for me to encounter inswing ball .

Get the junior player to play his front foot defense and measure from the back foot to the top of his toe and you'll get the length and use his back foot to get the width of the grid. (Sorry if that doesn't make sense, not very good at describing things ahaha)
