We are all hungry for sucess in west indies cricket again and have had many of false hope since the glory days i happen to be old enough to remember when the great Andy Roberts burst on the scene shortly followed by legendary Michael Holding and in no time the production line of super quick started, Colin Croft, Joel Garner, Malcolm Marshall etc. etc but cricket being a team sport it takes eleven committed individuals to make us great again i hope Shamar will continue to shine and the politics is kept out of sport so the best eleven in the region is selected based on ability regardless of place of birth

It's gonna be tough for this young man. The attention. I thought it was a team effort. Excellent fielding to support the bowling. Sinclair deserves some credit too.
@JJ-ug8ss6 ай бұрын
I agree with you Wes , Sinclair is a power house in the league. I want them to learn from youths in the past and don't let the attention lead to distraction . Nuff youths especially in guyana rise to stardom and just dissappear in a the darkness and never see the light again.

From PNG, loved the Calypso cricket. Thanks to Clive Lloyd for bringing the Windies here in 1970s. The only fast bowler we knew was Mr Andy Roberts. From the lessons gained in Australia, it was pace bowlers who set the agenda for many of the joyous years of cricket. Thanks Mr Shamar Joseph, shall be following cricket, just like when Brian Lara scored the 277 at SCG, Sir Curtley Ambrose unplayable bowling in Perth.

Croft debut in first class in 1972, in test in 1977. John Trim was 33 years old. He was well past his prime when debut in test in 1948. Between John Trim and Croft a number of fast bowlers were not dominant. Charlie Stayers appeared in 4 tests in 1962. Reon King 19 tests Colin Stuart 6 tests Brandon Bess, Keemo Paul are the fast bowlers selected for test matches between the careers of Croft and Joseph. Leslaine Lambert, Philbert Blair, Keith Cameron, Sidney Matthews, Winston English, and Randolph Ramnarace should have played test cricket. Randolph Ramnarace played for Rest of the World versus England.

Guyana in the 60s/70s produced many great batsmen. Even at the regional level it was difficult to bowl out Guyana in one day.
