Right from his debut I became Azher's fan and never happened watch cricket in stadium. But fortunately I had been to bangalore to attend my cousin brother marriage. On that day some body selling his ticket around 3pm. After watching 2 session and I purchased it to see the last session. As I entered the stadium I came to know that azher and kaif is playing and end of the day he was not out on 28 something. And next day he completed his last century I watched in TV. And that was my first and last visit to the stadium and at last fortunately watch him playing directly directly. And unfortunately azher's last international match.. I want see him always healthy wealthy and happy. Really a good person.

कभी कप्तान बना दिया जाता है और तू slowly and steadily टीम को एक निराली, आत्मविश्वास से भरी हुई टीम बना देता है, जो दुनिया की बेहतरीन टीमों को हरानें लगती है। और तू अपने टीम के प्लेयरस से मुहब्बत करता है और उन्हें मौक़े पर मौक़ा देता है, ख़ुशूशन सचिन तेंदुलकर और अजय जडेजा को और सभी को, लेकिन अपने रिकॉर्ड्स कभी परवाह नहीं करता है (वर्ना तू opening में भी आ सकता था, ग्राहम गूच या मार्क टेलर की तरह ) लेकिन नहीं तूने तो हमेशा अपना सारा ध्यान टीम को जिताना और दूसरे प्लेयरस को आगे बढ़ाना आदि पर लगायें रखा । अगरचे अज़हर बोलने में, या भाषण देने में बहुत backward था लेकिन जहां तक उसकी क्रिकेट के बारे में जानकारी या समझ थी। पिच कैसी है, टास जीत लिया अगर तो पहले बैटिंग या बालिंग , उसके किस खिलाड़ी में कितना माद्दा है, उसके किस बालर से कब या कितनी बालिंग करानी है, फ़ास्ट बोलर या फिर स्पिनर। कभी कभार तो ऐसे फ़ैसले लिए कि दुनिया हैरत में थी और तक़रीबन हम सारे हुए मैच जीत गए। मसलन एक मैच में कपिल देव के आवर्स बच रहे थे लेकिन अज़हर ने बाल सचिन को थमा दी,सब लोग हैरत में थे कि अज़हर ने यह क्या किया लेकिन भारत मैच जीत चुका था। ऐसा experiment अज़हर ने सचिन को लेकर सात बार किया और सचिन ने हर बार अज़हर या भारत को निराश नहीं किया। ऐसा ही अज़हर कभी कभार जड़ेजा को लेकर भी किया करते थे। सौरभ गांगुली तो ख़ैर एक आलराउंडर थे। कह सकते हैं। यह कहा जा सकता है कि अज़हर खेल में तो जिनियस ही था। दुश्मन भी उसकी तारीफ करते थे। लेकिन हां पालिटिक्स में वह ज़ीरो था।

Nor did I. I was shocked to see but happy for kaif as he shared the pitch with him must have witnessed a gem of an innings at close quater. I fondly remember some interviewer asking kaif about his similarities to azharuddin's batting though I don't find any but yes kaif like azhar had great fielding reflexes.

@@thereisnospoon123 Think beyond that and just admire the batting mastery and magic of Azhar. Match fixing scandal was never proved on Azhar and Hyderabad high court has acquitted him. He was a gem of player.

March 2000 the most seminal month in international cricket. This was the last test match for both Mohammed azharuddin and hansie cronje both of whom had to quit with shame due to their role in the match fixing saga . Ofcoruse this was also Sachin Tendulkars last match as captain . Ganguly became captain a few weeks later and the rest as they say is ‘history‘

This century of Mohammad Àzharuddin - Nothing official about it ! Nostalgic, isn't it. What is the cricket of today, only a joke, it has become a damn business. The players are bought like the animals. The old is gold and after 80's, 90's, and 2000, the spirit of the cricket has been bold and so are the players.
