Shamar Joseph's Mentor Prasanna Agoram shares all about West Indies Star's Emotional Journey

West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph's mentor Prasanna Agoram talks about his journey of being a security guard to international cricketer in an exclusive Interview with CricketNext. Prasanna also shared about how Shamar Joseph got into Guyana Amazon Warriors Team for CPL 2023.
But less than a year ago, Joseph wasn’t even a First-class cricketer. Interestingly, when India mauled the Aussies in Gabba in 2021, Joseph was working as a security officer in Berbice. The left-arm quick, who hails from a remote area in Guyana, used fruits or melted plastic bottles and turned them into a ball and played cricket with his cousin.
Joseph comes from a family which has deep faith in God. So, he was never allowed to play cricket on Saturdays as it was meant to serve the Church. He could only play on Sundays.

I sat listening to this interview and I was crying. I'm from Trinidad in the West Indies and we don't have many bright moments lately, to feel this much pride in our cricket team or people in general. Shamar Joseph had already played for Guyana earlier in the year before playing for the Amazon Warriors.. He was invited to the nets based on his proven credentials. What Prasanna might have done is to help to get him a contract replacing Kemo Paul, he did not discovered him.
