Hi Snehal, saw ur video, please note when u add a grip to ur bat it will add another 40 to 65 gram according to the type of grip you are using. this will change the centre of gravity.. when you are comparing 2 or more bats, it always good that you use identical components, if possible the same grip and if have toe guard then both should have the same .. in this case, if you add grip to your Bass bat it will make minimum 40 grams more on the handle side, and the balance point which you had marked might shift at least 10 to 20mm towards the handle side ..

you are absolutely correct, even though she explained balance well , she is incorrect about COG, when bottom is heavy means more wood at bottom,centre of gravity shifts towards bottom and bat feels heavy, for example i have two identical bats (weight and shapewise) but one has lighter cork handle, cork handle bat feels so much heavier than wood handle and centre of gravity is lower by more than 1.5 inches, i hope this is clear, thanks.

It's means in this video bottom of handle side is heavy so cog is higher side if we reduce Handle weight it's cog reduce and bat balance improve if I am not wrong

I don't understand why the CG of the bat moves upward for a bottom weight bat. It supposed to be the other way around. The CG will be there where the weight is concentrated. Please correct me if I am wrong..

Apart from the feel, how do we figure out (like you measured), how high or low the center of gravity is for a bat? Also is there any standard for that (i mean measurement wise)?

There is not standard. but all depends on your style of play and your feel .. but what I consider is you should select a bat according to your style of play .. I have seen many players selecting bats taking in consideration of weight and pickup... If you check the pick up of 3 bats with the same weight but with the different sweet spot, say low sweet spot, mid sweet spot and high sweet spot .. you will feel the 3rd that is the bat with high sweet spot will feel better on pick up and the first that is low sweet spot bat heavier on pick up.. and obviously you will go with the bat with lighter pick up.. but most of us don't understand that your playability defines the bat .. and if you take a high sweet spot bat and play in low bouncy pitch and you are a typical front foot player and don't play cut or pull ,, you won't be making big runs and will be hard to make runs,, I personally feel, bat should be selected upon the way you play cricket and the pitch condition, I do agree weight and pick up has its own importance though

PLEASE HELP ME SNEHAL: I use a 2.10 bat which is bottom heavy. It's a new handmade bat I just purchased. I am not really happy with its balance/pickup. What should I tell my bat-maker to fix in my bat if it is bottom heavy like your green bat from this video? It has a thin oval handle (I have always used & loved fully round handle bats before) and I have 2 grips on it already but that doesn't really help with the pickup and balance. Should I get a 3rd grip? Or should I ask my bat-maker to replace the semi-oval handle to a fully round handle as I used in the past? I am a bottom handed player by the way. Or should I try something else to get better balance? Please help me!

I don’t think the logic is correct. If the bottom is heavy center of gravity should be lower. I believe the heavier bat had two grips thus shifting the center of gravity higher. Also, a perfectly balanced bat means the center of gravity should be at the center of the bat. Meaning for bottom heavier bats you would add weight to the handle on the top and bring the balance aka COG to the center.

Wrong information, its the opposite way around anyone try measuring your centre of gravity please also try put a small weight to bottom of your bat and measure where the centre of gravity moves . You will know whats wrong in this video.
