You are selecting too many items. You can only select two layers. Be sure your words are welded as one layer

I haven’t had any issues at all. Try making sure you have foil selected when you slice maybe? I’m not sure I do the exact same steps and it works fine

will those lines also work to fill in a drawing...? so instead of an outline of a flower, will the lines make the flower look filled in? Do the lines need to be changed to drawing instead of cut? haha so many questions! thanks :-)

Yes it works for the drawing and engraving features. And yes they need to be changed to draw :)

You are likely selecting more than two lines on the layers tab.

Yes it could be too small but also the smoother the paper the tighter the foil the better as well

Is there a way to put the foil on top of permanent vinyl? I have the we r memory keepers foil quill tool and would like to be able to do this onto vinyl then transfer it onto a piece of wood.

No. The vinyl is made to repel things like this. The foil quill also adds heat which will damage your vinyl

I want to know how the foil kit actually works. Does the maker cut the letters in the foil and stick it on the card? Are you able to use big letters or does the design need to be small.

You can go as big as you want and it’s a pressure sensitive foil it doesn’t cut the foil it just presses it into the paper

My svg zip file only has one file with chrome extension and that is an unsupported file type. I can't find a way to message you on your website.

The html file is an SVG file. It does this because you don’t have a default vector program selected on your computer. You need to make sure that you have unzipped the file and then use the html file to load into design space. I just checked this file a couple days ago and it works perfectly

Your fonts are installed on your computer and that is where the website is pulling from

Thank you for sharing this! Is there any help you can provide me when it comes to processing time? Every time I go to print my foil with the hatched lines, it takes over 10 minutes to process (if not longer). I have about 50 envelopes to print addresses and return address on and dont want to spend over 20 minutes processing the prints for each card

It’s a cricut issue. Design space is a pretty awful program. You can try to weld your entire design and see if that helps but design space is just slow

I was starting to think it wasn't possible to fill in foil text, so thank you so much for this! I've downloaded your SVG file and applied it to my cursive text in design space, but in the process it has actually erased a few places along the word and some parts have tiny lines jutting out where they shouldn't be...any idea if we can go in manually and add in/erase lines? Any tips are appreciated!

Cricut updates have made this a little more annoying. Duplicate your word. slant the line svg and duplicate it. turn that line the opposite direction. Then slice the words from each line svg then center them

You used to have to weld words to slice them. No matter what words you used or what font. Now however you dont have to do that

Yes. You will always see the lines. If you are making wedding invitations this is 100% not the way to go. It will take you a million years like this. Look at my foiling on cardstock videos for better ways to do this

I can't even get the foil transfer tool to work with single line designs, much less an entire fill-in. My results are awful & I think it has something to do with the latest update. The pressure applied seems to be much less than before, even with the same settings (this goes for my blades as well). I've had to jack up the pressure for everything.

If they are pressure sensitive foils they work but if they need an adhesive to adhere they will not work

I just got the foil kit and I'm not really having much success with words I'm trying to foil for a card :( I've pulled the foil tight so there are no wrinkles, I'm using medium cardstock (doesn't have much texture to it) and the foil just isn't transferring well like I'm seeing on KZbin :( any troubleshooting tips? Should I use a more textured cardstock?

Make sure you have the foil tool seated correctly in the holder. if its still not working it may be faulty and I Would contact Cricut.
