Ally Haden oh yes! You can still use an iron. I do have all the Cricut Easy Presses and they make life easier. However, you can use the iron when you are first starting out. 💗🌸🎀💕

Hi Elizabeth! I prefer the Cricut because it was easier to learn right out of the box. The Silhouette wasn’t as easy for me to pick up so I didn’t use it for like a year before learning about the Cricut. 💗🌸🎀

Question, I just ruined a shirt and the vinyl. I was using the Cricut Iron on vinyl and the last tutorial I watched didn't show using a cloth between the design and the transfer tape and he said to leave it on for 30 seconds. I did 20 seconds and checked and my plastic was totally melted into the shirt and the marks from the iron were burnt into the design. Is the trick less heat or using the cloth in between, or both? I have a very old iron that is from literally the 70's. i think it's time to just suck it up and get an easy press.

It actually sticks to my matte, easy weeding, and when you take it out of the tube it goes flat.. doesn't want to curl right back up!

Yes, the cloth is necessary. Cricut now has other options for the cloth as well. I would use white so the dye from other colors doesn't leak on your project. XOXOXO

Hello, You said to put the iron on the highest setting, no steam, but then you said dry...so are you saying to make sure there is not water inside? Or just stating no steam means it'll be dry? I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with my transfers....some work great, while others don't stick ...? It's confusing. I'm using a regular Iron on highest setting and steam off... but I add water to it and release the heat before pressing onto my project.
