Barotrauma is such a weird horror game, because I'm absolutely addicted to it. Being able to "brave" the depths of an Eldritch sea with your Bois is such a surreal experience.

The infection rate could do with a slight downward tweak, but I don't find them so bad. Broad spectrum antibiotics are very cheap and will cure an early stage husk infection; if your medic is on top of things they can treat infected cultists before they ever become a problem.

As someone who doesn't play Barotrauma, who is incorrect about how the game is played? Criken or Tomato?

I think playing with so many strong personalities who are streaming, giving an allowance to different people who know what they want to buy is better than spending valuable stream time coordinating it through one person(Criken). However, Tomato approaches it in such a terrible way. He is really relentlessly aggressive about it even though he always had the supplies he needed for everything. He had the materials to make more advanced medicines but didn't really have the game knowledge to make use of anything beyond basic medical supplies. It's just better to prioritize defenses and weapons so no one ever needs medical treatment to begin with imo. If you want to progress, you have to make pretty substantial purchases so splitting the money can be risky. I think how Criken handled it by giving them just minor allowances was ideal since most of them are still learning the early game as far as crafting goes it seems. That or are actively just goofing around. The problem was that it should be made clear that those allowances belong to the crew as a whole still, the captain just trusts people to buy their specialized items. It's not for people to buy private property generally.

I think beelining for upgrades by skimping on ammo and medication is not a good call. In a new campaign where the crew stays with a sub and no money, I'll spend all the earnings from my first trip or two on medical supplies, fuel rods, ammunition, and miscellaneous diving equipment. A good stock of supplies means you can survive enemy encounters that would kill a poorly equipped crew.

I guess I should caveat that I intend to buy the submarine gun by the end of the third trip. But usually you have some wiggle room in the budget to get the gun early while ensuring everyone has supplies.
