It's been amazing so far. If it keeps going like this I think it will definitely be the best arc of campaign 2. Comment's section here; tldr, Mark was right in regards to cube size. From the phb, ch. 10 Spellcasting, under casting a spell - areas of effect (i don't have the page number as I'm using a digital copy, apologies): "Cube You select a cube’s point of origin, which lies anywhere on a face of the cubic effect. The cube’s size is expressed as the length of each side [what Mark said]." It is not measured from the cube's center (what Monty said). While I don't agree with Monty's ruling in this instance, I do understand that DM's ruling is law within the game and applaud her for calling it quickly to keep the flow of the game moving. I look forward every week to this series and Mad Mage, and also want to add that Monty is an inspiration to newbie DM's like myself. Can't wait to see what's next. Also, hi Bosco!

I was going to say, whenever a spell uses radius it always specifies that’s what it’s using. She effectively quadruples the size of cube spells with her ruling. Not sure where she got her physical cubes from, but she got ripped off because they clearly did not read the PHB when they made them. Edit: why this is important: if you used her ruling for spells that create walls, you’d make walls that are f***ing MASSIVE. I’m talking cube coverage in the triple digits.

Connor’s call of KZbin comments was correct. Going purely off of the book as a base-line, a 10-foot cube is a 2x2 square and a 20-foot cube is a 4x4 square. Of course, DM’s law can overwrite at any time, but the other side does have ground to stand on.

This is why i don't like when all enemies have a turn in the same moment. Monty charging down the councilor and setting up assasins for flanking and sneak attack, while players just sit there without recourse. Roll20 can track initiatives for you, why not use it?
