Summary of Crime and Punishment
Raskolnikov | St. Petersburg | crime | old pawnbroker | money for a watch and to plan the crime
stops for a drink at a tavern | meets a man named Marmeladov | sickly wife, Katerina
finds an AX|kills pawnbroker and her sister Lizaveta
Raskolnikov becomes annoyed with Pulcheria Alexandrovna and Dunya
Razumikhin, meanwhile, falls in love with Dunya.
Raskolnikov visits the magistrate in charge of the murder investigation, Porfiry Petrovich, a relative of Razumikhin.
Zamyotov is at the detective’s house when Raskolnikov arrives.
Raskolnikov and Porfiry have a tense conversation about the murders
a man|calls him a murderer. |That night Raskolnikov dreams about the pawnbroker’s murder. When he wakes up, there is a stranger in the room.
Dunya breaks the engagement | Everyone is overjoyed

A year and a half later, Raskolnikov is in prison in Siberia, where he has been for nine months.
Sonya has moved to the town outside the prison, and she visits Raskolnikov regularly and tries to ease his burden.
Confession | Mentally relaxed
After Raskolnikov’s arrest, his mother became delirious and died. Razumikhin and Dunya were married.
Raskolnikov remains as proud and alienated from humanity as he was before his confession, but he eventually realizes that he truly loves Sonya and expresses remorse for his crime.

Top novel told good way.i red 3 times novel English plus saw English film. Remake hindi film. Also red Marathi translation. 45 years I am thinking crime & punishment. Alfred hitchcock totally refused to make film. He saluted author and said I do not alter story for film. That will injustice to writer. Hats off. But other producer made film.
