Marlow is chief character of the novel. He is philosophical in nature and believes on independence. He is Thirty two years old. In beginning, he. Is depicted in the portray of Buddha. This portraying of him reflection of his truthfulness. He himself is narrator. As story moves on, the journey begins from our testation then to central station and ends to inner station at kango River. Thus the purpose behind this narration is to show hollowness of colonizim. Apart from this, Kurtz is second most important character. He is epitome of all kinds of brutality, and oppression of Europe. He is European and attributes so many good qualities. He is poet, painte, etc More importantly, these two characters reflect a major theme of restriction. Former live within and latter lives outside to society. The manager is chief manager at African territory and runs African territory.
