"In the entire set up as an overall proposition, Adonis raked as one of the big boss .... one of what your might call the board of directors, is that right?" (O'Dwyer) Reles said so. (Halley) "And I think he actually named six men who he thought were the top men, is that right?" (O'Dwyer):- "I'm not too sure of their names, I doubt if Reles knew their names. He knew them round here in this neighbourhood but I doubt if he knew them all over the country." MS O'Dwyer. (Halley) "What is your present view about Costello." CU O'Dwyer. "in this overall gang...". (O'Dwyer):- "You've got the questions and the answers - suppose you ask me the questions" (Halley):- "There's no trick in it. I remember you had a reason for not including (Frank) Costello (O'Dwyer):- "Well, the main reason I had for not including him, that I never did find his name mentioned in connection with any murder in Brooklyn and at no time was his name mentioned at all in the investigations. as I recall it, except in the turning in of Leski." MS Senate Probe Committee. MS O'Dwyer. (Halley) "Now will you kindly give to the committee. just what the nature of the conversation was?" (O'Dwyer) "A lot of things about Army Contracts" (Halley) "In other words.... Because of its importance will you relate as near as you can what was said by each of the parties. (O'Dwyer) "There wasn't a conversation between all of them, there was a conversation between Costello and me, and that conversation was not in the presence of the others." MS Senate Probe Committee. CU O'Dwyer. (O'Dwyer) "We've got bookmaking all over the country they say there's a lot of it in New Hampshire too. Thirty million dollar a year" (Senator Tobey):- "I've never seen it proved." (O'Dwyer) "Well its been in the papers and they say that every New England Bookmaker of any count, spend their summers in Burton Woods in New Hampshire. That's what they say, and it's printed in your papers up there. (Tobey) "Well, I've never heard that before Sir" (O'Dwyer) "Want me to read it from the Manchester Union?" (Tobey) "You can send it to me special delivery mail. (O'Dwyer):- "I'll be glad to read it to you." GV The Courtroom. MS Pan from O'Dwyer to Tobey. (Tobey):- "And I might say to you Sir, that I don't believe anything I see in the Manchester Union. Well we haven't got a Costello in New Hampshire. (O'Dwyer):- "I wonder."
