They're doing the electronic price tag thing in the Wal-mart i'm working at. They don't really want to pay an expansive modification team anymore so they're trimming wherever they can. They'll move the harder mod team workers over to stocking and fire the others. It'll definitely be easier and save a lot of paper waste due to the labels not having to be printed. Not to mention, it'll make it much easier to clean. You should see it after a big mod. It looks like an explosive went off with paper labels EVERYWHERE. The problem is that those electronic tags are definitely going to get broken. It'll make doing mods so much easier that they'll literally just have to do minor programming and it'll change it up. All they have to do then is to move the freight where it needs to go.

The Fed is a scam. Actually I should us a more scathing word to describe it. Ron Paul's talk of "End the Fed" was not just an empty platitude. The Fed causes the economic problems. The extent that they "care" would be that their incompetence or manipulation or worse, is going to catch up with them and they get busted and charged with high treason. The Federal Reserve Act of 1913, should never have been passed. There is even a conspiracy theory that the Titanic was sunk the year before, to eliminate 3 critical votes that would have defeated the Federal Reserve Act. Come on Michael, stop apologizing for the unconstitutional illegal Fed. You should know about this stuff. Read the book, as I have, _The Creature From Jekyll Island_ by Edward Griffith. In any reasonable free market, interest rates should be determined by the people themselves, by how willing people are to save rather than borrow and into debt. The savers should be getting much of that interest money, not politically-favored groups and connected elitists. Until people wisen up and understand stuff like this, how will the rampant government corruption ever be ended? Why aren't we reading books like the old classic Adam Smith's _The Wealth of Nations_ ? Why aren't we studying Austrian economics rather than the government-intrusion Keynesian economics?

Taken together, the Bush tax cuts, their bipartisan extensions, and the Trump tax cuts, have cost $10 trillion since their creation and are responsible for 57 percent of the increase in the debt ratio since then. They are responsible for more than 90 percent of the increase in the debt ratio if you exclude the one-time costs for responding to COVID-19 and the Great Recession. While these one-time costs increased the level of debt, they did nothing to affect the trajectory of the debt ratio. With or without them, the United States would currently have stable debt, albeit potentially at a higher level, despite rising spending.28 In other words, these legislative changes-the Bush and Trump tax cuts-are responsible for more than 90 percent of the change in the trajectory of the debt ratio to date (see Figure 3) and will grow to be responsible for more than 100 percent of the debt ratio increase in the future. They are thus entirely responsible for the fiscal gap-the magnitude of the reduction in the primary deficit needed to stabilize the debt ratio over the long run.29 The current fiscal gap is roughly 2.4 percent of GDP. Thus, maintaining a stable debt-to-GDP ratio over the long run would require the primary deficit as a percentage of GDP to average 2.4 percent less over the period. Because the costs of the Bush tax cuts, their extensions, and the Trump tax cuts-on average, roughly 3.8 percent of GDP over the period30-exceeds the fiscal gap, without them, all else being equal, debt as a percentage of the economy would decline indefinitely.31

@@aaronburdon221 It seems that the electronic price tags would solve at least some issues. I once worked retail, and price tags were always an issue. Some old sale tags did not always get removed. Can we expect customers to read the tiny expiration date, that it expired yesterday? But of course the customer would rather have yesterday's price, which means a manager markdown. I suspect that markdowns are tracked and excessive markdowns would be noticed by higher ups. I would always be making lists of tags that I needed to print and replace. There never was enough time to keep all the tags properly updated or to get out all the new tags for the day, before customers came in. Maybe with electronic price tags there would be fewer items that have no price tag at all? When I used to deliver pizzas, when we got the computer system in, it was a big improvement. I could finally read the pizza slips. No more bad hand-writing issues, although my hand-writing is great, but that is beside the point as I was a driver, not an insider. Hard-to-find addresses could after-the-delivery be edited to include delivery instructions. The next time that customer ordered under the same phone number, the special delivery instructions would print out for the driver to easily find their address. Even after the computers, we the drivers still had discretion, and we still decided how many deliveries we could take and arrive hopefully in a timely manner. Although the old paper system did also track where we had gone to deliver, the computer system probably does it a bit better. If a driver does not return, it could be really good to know where we should go looking for him. So tracking can often be a good thing. I do not recall GPS tracking on vehicles being much of a thing back then, and that would be rather problematic since we drove our own vehicles. When we would call the customer and ask them to leave their porch light on for us, what that was really about was some questionable neighborhood, and we want to verify that the phone number matches a valid address. So it is important for customers to use a valid phone number, or their order could simply be cancelled. Back then, it was only cash or personal check as payment options. If the customer wanted to include the tip on the check, that was great, I liked it when they asked that question, I figured they would likely be more generous if they could pay both by the same check, as I would tell them that we only have to pay for the pizzas. We get all our tips in cash regardless. Any overage after checking out with the manager at the end of the day, we keep. One time, having a new manager, I had to show the manager how to load the pizza box label printer. It had instructions inside and I had figured it out previously. That could be embarrassing, being the manager and not knowing how to load a vital printer, so I was happy to help him with that. Those devices often are complicated, not quite as simple as perhaps they ought to be. Where I work now, I often load the auto-paper-towel dispenser. Touch-less battery-powered, next paper towel spits out whenever somebody takes one. Apparently I am the only person who could figure it out, other than the chief person who works a different shift. Or nobody else wants to mess with it. And I have no idea where the special key is to open it. Since it is not a secure lock, I manage to jimmy it with my car key.

On my video game island, we have no politicians/criminals. There is no inflation, no taxes, and no utility bills. Most of the villagers are too lazy to pay for much. Since I have a work ethic and ended up being the richest member of the community, I just decide whatever I want to build and pay for, for the benefit of the community. There are bridges and stairs to climb the cliffs, most everywhere, a laundromat, bathhouses, a library, a hospital, a place of worship meeting room, and so on. Guess who built or paid for all that? I already built all my mansions to the maximum size, now what can I spend my pretend money on? I might as well develop my island for everybody's benefit. Rich people used to fund things like hospitals, schools, libraries, parks, and such. @@Think20244Don’t criticize me that harshly. Yes we’re all sinners who are guilty of judging others, but that said I’m a good Christian. I got baptized last month on July 21, and I have my certificate of baptism as proof. If you don’t repent and get baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38) you risk ending up in Hell due to potential loss of faith in Christ Jesus. I’m shocked crime hasn’t closed businesses too often in my home state’s largest city. Thank goodness I’m not from the most dangerous city in my home state; I would recommend avoiding that area due to high crime stats. They don’t lie; plus there are a lot of hate groups in Milwaukee so it’s not a very welcoming place like here farther north in the state. The Islamic hate groups in particular that seem to believe in a lot of violence is exactly why any good Christian would want to leave the biggest city in this state as soon as possible. The punishment for the high crime and misdemeanor of theft should be like how it was back in the old days: You get your hand cut off!

As you asked briefly for european viewers and their perspective: In southern Germany (Nuremberg) we do not have store closing because of theft but because of shrinking buying power due to increasing rents and food prices while wages are stagnant or only slowly increasing. Inside the inner city of Nuremberg respectively downtown, since Corona you have a now visible desperate situation that many people are buying less and as well percentually more online (e.g. Amazon) so that shops downtown are closing and only a few are overtaking the empty store places, sometimes Arabs outside downtown, so that we have 5-6 continously empty store places that we did not have in the past in that premier shopping area. At the same time Amazon is raising up new logistics centres throughout Europe with wages close to minimum wage (some above 12 Euros per hour).

As of June 2024, there are 1,897 Target stores in the U.S. With that said, I have a hard time believing that Target is seeing any noticeable change in its shoplifting losses by closing a scant nine stores. That just doesn't make any sense. What does make sense is that mega retailers like Target and Walmart are doing everything they can to justify closing their stores to mimic Amazon's business model. For instance, if you do a google search for an item and numerous matches show up at Walmart, the price is always accompanied by "if purchased online." In other words, chains like Walmart and Target are luring brick and mortar customers to shop online by offering lower prices on items if purchased online. Their agenda is clear: we want to close all of our stores so we can be exactly like Amazon.
@julianacaulker27142 ай бұрын
Also be very cautious about buying products from Walmart online, some of them are non refundable and they will not let you know. I found out the hard way. Bought 3 luggages , wanted to return for bigger ones. Even though all items were not opened, they could only accept two. No way I would shop at Walmart online except buying paper towels, detergent or toilet paper!
@AbcDef-iq4no2 ай бұрын
@@julianacaulker2714 That is a really good point you just made. Personally, I really hate buying stuff online because if the item isn't what you ordered, arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all it is a royal pain in the neck to return or get a refund. And there is nothing like being able to go to a store and look at and handle an item you are wanting to purchase, or for that matter to return something and get a replacement immediately. The more brick and mortar stores we lose the less options we have to purchase and return items with ease.
