+Αγγελική Κουλούρη In the south, prices collapsed under the pressures of the 1982 recession and there was the arrival of molybdenum by-product production from copper mines. The same radical shifts in molybdenum supply and demand that had sent prices soaring were now causing prices to crash. People were out of work, and convoys of moving vans began to work their way in from Terrace, the nearest active city. No jobs, no money = no small town. you can read more on their website www.kitsault.com/about_hist.html

g bridgman Detroit is a great place to live, full of freedom and honest people trying to sruvive. The problems in Detroit have alot to do with the same economic piracy that's stripping the world bare right now. Please don't use us as a cheap joke or to prove some political point. It's already drawing the racists. And please don't give up on the People of Detroit.

Detroit's main problem is loss of good jobs mostly connected to the auto industry. That, in part, can be blamed on bad corporate management. Corrupt government and school boards didn't help either.

Blendeture I always wondered why in tv shows in those times or portrayed in those times, everyone has extremely bland furniture and wall colors. It's quite depressing to me. If earth tones were the trend, that makes sense. Although, I'm rather into earth tones, but in a very modern way.

He changed his mind In January of this year, however, Suthanthiran formed Kitsault Energy and began pitching the empty town as an ideal location to build a liquid natural gas plant and pipeline terminal to ship B.C.'s vast natural gas resources to markets in Asia. His original idea for the town sounded great but his new idea on what to turn the town into sounds gross and unapealing.

Hell, there might have even been some morphine left over in those hospitals and they could have a real party.it would be weaker after 3 decades sure, but if you have enough of it, that should be no problem.

This is what it means to live in a "company town". The company owns EVERYTHING. They even own the stores. Read about the Matewan Massacre in 1921 in West Virginia, which was part of the Coal Wars to see how families of terminated employees were literally thrown into the streets at gunpoint by coal co agents. Wake Up, Dummy !!! Working people are being crapped on and you think it's funny. ... jkulik919@gmail.com

And then there's homeless people in the world without a home etc. This town been abandoned for more then 30 years, with the lights turned on, all houses & apartments in top condition, shops, bank, school, library, a shopping mall & the list goes on. Plus natural beauty all around it, the best water etc... All there without people for more then 30 years. All I can say is, our world are so selfish, this big corporate companies only think about making money that's all! Many people without a home could benefit from this & be secure & happy. Latest on Kitsault, BC On January 8th, 2013, Kitsault Resorts announced the plan of establishing an LNG plant, refinery, and export terminal in Kitsault, BC. The proposed facility will provide export of energy products and pipelines will be established for oil, natural gas, and refined petroleum products that will travel to/from Kitsault, BC from Alberta, as well as Northeast and Northwest British Columbia. These products will be shipped to Asia and other high demand markets. This project is estimated to cost $20 to $30 Billion CAD/USD. We will be working with a consortium of energy producers, governments, customers, engineering firms, investors, First Nations, and others to accomplish these goals.

That's a shame, to see so many abandoned dwellings. There's so many poor and homeless people out there, who would give anything to have a nice home / town to live in. Alas, greed and selfishness rule the world, so places like this rot away while those that need it most continue to suffer.

Valueless Dollar I wish it had been left alone... or, at least, I wish this stupid channel had taken more footage of it. I am extremely interested in seeing entire houses that have been untouched for 30 years. It makes you wonder what could have been left in the fridge... It would be nice if it could have been preserved, but we all know that nature would take its toll, over time. Still, it's a bit mind boggling to think of all the cool things that had been left there and untouched.
