Why are murderers allowed to leave prison without telling where the bodies of the victims are??!! They should be made to stay locked up until the bodies are recovered! It’s so simple!!!

@@Liza-cl2gbyeah it does and Helen's family are supporting Danielle's family to keep Campbell behind bars. It's just that Helen's killer was released in 2020, having never revealed where she is. They would have fought for that law for Helen initially. I feel awful for them that that happened.

According to crime and investigation, by the time his case came to trial (after he'd been in prison for a year) the young victim was terrified of him and refused to go into the court because she couldn't face him. This allowed him to make the argument in the court that it was a misunderstanding of some kind and that he had been unaware of her age. None of that would happen today. But 1989 was a different world in terms of sex crime prosecutions - we still made rape victims *touch* and speak to the suspect in line ups for example. Hopefully in the modern age no one could slip through like he did. However it makes you wonder how many more monsters managed to avoid facing any real punishment during the 70s/80s/90s and went on to commit much much worse offfenses in the decades following.

This happened before the soham murders. And so I don't think their criminal record (CRB checks, as they were known as then) would have shown allegations, just what you've been convicted with. He may have not been caught for that. Until they investigated his computer following Danielle's disappearance.

Every parent knows that feeling, even if only for a few minutes in a Park or while shopping and losing sight or contact with your child, you shudder to a halt in terror, a sinking emptiness before getting frantic with worry and panic whilst desperately searching for your toddler/child/teenager. It is built into us at a very deep level in order to take action very very quickly and locate them and return them to safety. My children are all adults now so thankfully such incidents are a thing of the past. I too cannot imagine what these parents have been through and feel a shiver down my spine, how you deal with that level of loss is beyond me. Thankfully, these things are extremely rare but terrible that these parents found themselves in the midst of life's greatest terror, shocking. I pray that they have found some level of peace in life, no parents should ever have to go through such awful things.

They would know she had come to harm. But because she hasn't been found, they have to live with the second guessing that they naturally would have about what she must have gone through. It's horrible to think of the mental torment that they've had to go through for 24 years now. Knowing that he could have ended that for them a long time ago. He is completely sick to do that to them.

Thats literally the parole board guidelines. The only reason it isn't law is because of miscarriage of justice cases. If you haven't committed the crime you're accused of, it's not possible for you to divulge info you don't know. And that's why he was denied parole in 2023. The parole board are satisfied he's guilty and withholding info shows he's not fully remorseful or addressing the devastation he caused to the family of his victims.

This really brought back memories of how l used to fight with my dad from the age of 14. I was young and l just couldn’t see that his intervention was because he was worried about me. The deadlines for returning home, the clothes and make up restrictions. But l didn’t have an uncle like Danielle. One person causing so much damage to his own family, and theirs. It will not make any difference to what hatred they have for him, but he has to tell them where she is.

The inappropriate relationship with the uncle should have been addressed years ago. Why parent would let an uncle communicate with their daughter secretively, text her directly, take her shopping and to the movies alone, enter her bedroom and leave little love notes etc.etc. This man was grooming her for years, under the watchful eye of the parents.

Danielle would be so proud of her Mum & Dad. The horror that entered their lives is something I cannot imagine I could not contain such dignity through. As time passes I imagine the physical aspects of her slipped away from not plating her means to the eventual loss of the rabbits she held dearI am so sorry. To Danielle your memory lives on & your family's love still exists. Her 'Uncle' took advantage of things in her character that some may view as vulnerabilities, things I can relate to at that age and took away her chance to develop into who she should have become. Afterwards he then did nothing but stonewall any feelings of his victims, making them feel almost redundant I imagine, he does not care, horrorfying in itself.

The media and govt are to blame, they spun Helens Law off as them fulfilling their duty, it was nothing but an insincere gesture by our Home Office. That said, and Mark my words, Stuart Campbell is up for Parole later this year, he will be refused (you won’t get parole on your first hearing), and the media will spin it that Helens Law has been successful, when in reality, it took Ian Simms several hearings to secure freedom and likewise it took Russell Causley several hearings before release, but as Stuart Campbells case will be the first to be heard since the law has gone on to the statute books, you can pretty much bet that the Mirror and many others will jump on the bandwagon claiming the law to be more effective then what it actually is.

Murderers like Stuart Campbell could be kept in prison for full jail terms if they choose not to reveal where their victims' remains are. Campbell was convicted of the murder of his niece, Danielle Jones, in December 2002 and jailed for life. 15-year-old Danielle was last seen on Monday June 18, 2001 near her home in East Tilbury

Sad to see the mother in so much grief, that she blamed her husband, and his family for the actions of their son-in-law and brother-in-law. Sometimes when people are grieving, they lash out at the wrong people. Her husband Tony, is suffering the loss of his daughter, as much as she is. But blaming him, is heartbreaking. Having this tension in the house, would also cause extra pain for the sons, as they watch this. She needed to see a counsellor, so she wasn’t venting at the wrong people, and causing more damage. I think in such circumstances, it’s so important to unite, and remember the only person to blame, is the scum who committed the unthinkable. Nobody else.

It is normal for parents to blame each other. “You should have disciplined her more and you should not have allowed her to stay out late.” “No, YOU were too hard on her, that’s why she never confided in us.” etc etc etc. The death of a child usually breaks up the parent’s’ marriage. I’ve seen it happen.

A pathetic sentence and a legacy of wrong-headed sentencing policy in the UK from the 1960s onwards premised upon “rehabilitation.” If you kill someone in a pub fight - I get it. You can change. If you plan and carry out the sadistic, clearly sexually-motivated murder of your own niece, attempt to deceive her family that she is still alive, refuse to cooperate with the investigation and never disclose her body’s location, you must remain locked up.
