For the life of me I can’t understand a parent that thinks it’s ok to put ur babies to sleep in a foreign country and walk out the door. Not even in ur own home in ur own country I can’t wrap my head around it. Is this a culturally British thing? Is this normal? In the US if u did what the McCanns just admitted to which was drugging the kids with sleeping meds and leaving the home u would be arrested no questions asked. The very minimal charge you would be charged with is child neglect and child endangerment. Anything could happen. A fire, an accident, A BREAK IN! However it absolutely blows my mind how these parents talk about giving sleeping meds and leaving as if they did this often and was no big deal. No shame whatsoever. Like they don’t even know what the fuss is about. I’m sorry but these 2 parents were the catalyst in their child’s demise. After reading Christian’s accounts of what he wanted to do with a small child is heartbreaking. Horrific and I couldn’t live knowing someone sexually tortured my child. Not just assaulted but if he’s responsible it’s almost a given he tortured her because that was his means of operation given his arrest record. His crimes weren’t just assaulting but torturing his victims. Poor beautiful little baby girl. As a mommy I would have taken myself out this world knowing that my small baby was tortured to death.

it doesnt make sense , if you were worried about your child not being in the bedroom and you couldnt see them in the bed, and it was dark, the first thing you would do was turn the lights on, you wont care if it woke them or not, you would be in such a worry and panic, hoping they were safe. I would turn on every light on in every room looking frantic. nope never brought their story.

I believe that they over-sedated poor Maddie and that had tragic consequences and G & K had no other option (in their eyes) to create the mother of all cover-ups, carefully and clinically manufactured. Highly trained and sought after Cadaver dogs were flown in from the UK. G and K have constantly dismissed this evidence. The Cadaver dogs alerted police to human decomposition in G & K’s bedroom, behind a sofa, in a rental car and unbelievably on Maddie’s cuddle cat (her favourite soft toy) which Kate carried to every press conference but inexplicably washed before the dogs got there, this by the way did not stop the dogs alerting police to human decomposition. Oh, they alerted police to human decomposition found on Kate’s clothing. Regardless, at the very least why G & K have never ever been charged with at least gross-negligence either in the UK or Portugal is beyond me. Lastly the entire focus since day 1 has been about tge G & K show, not focussed on where is our daughter? What happened to our daughter? Somebody, somewhere must know. No, none of that 😢

@@SharaBG I was engaged to be married, and fell pregnant at 19 years old. My fiancée and I lived together. When our son was 14 months old, my husband and I were on opposite hours of shifts at work. I was on days. I would usually have left 30 min or so minutes before he arrived home mornings, because we lived 10 miles from our town. I would leave the baby at our sitters home, and after my fiancée had four or five hours of sleep, he would go get our baby. Except one morning when he came home, he picked up our son from the sitter, and left town. When I arrived home, my suitcases were packed with all that he could fit in, and left out in the street. The house was locked with new locks. After about 20 seconds, the awful possibility hit me. I raced to the sitter's home, and when she opened the door looking surprised, she told me the beginning of my new nightmare. When my husband got home, he immediately took our son. He had had nine hours of travel time to escape with my baby. I was clueless as to where he might have gone. So, locked out of the house, I didn't even have anywhere to sleep that night. It was 1972, and in Australia, things weren't computerised to help in the search. I had to keep working to live. That was, until I decided I didn't want to anymore. I obviously did, found by an unexpected visit from a neighbour. To shorten the story, I was reunited with my son when he was 11. So my answer to your question is, I lived it.

Those whooshing curtains always make me laugh, who believes this nonsense? Kate was convinced that Madeleine had been abducted from the outset and yet she left the twins alone to run back to the Tapas restaurant. And she didn't phone the police nor did Gerry or any of their friends, the Tapas 7. That was left to the 24 hr receptionist, Helder Luis, and had nothing to do with the Tapas 9. It's a pity no-one asked Kate to reconcile her whooshing curtains nonsense with what she said in her police statement of 4th May 07.

This is the first time they’ve changed that story slightly in public. It started out with the shutters being jemmied for access and exit if the apartment. They originally said they were using the front door for checking the children but changed it because witnesses would have noticed the key changing fiasco when they each did their checking shifts. So they changed it to the patio doors, which were not lockable from the outside so they reluctantly had to admit that the apartments were left unlocked. In this documentary, they say the “whoosh” was why they “originally thought the “abduction” was through the window”. Lots of lies and now more lies all to do with doors and windows alone.

Exactly 👍🏻👍🏻 I'd rather stay with the kids at the vacation home. I'd die in sorrow instead of having a "good dinner and drinks .I wouldn't be able to eat. If they are guilty in any way on this horrible crime of killing a little girl by accident maybe? Was she really murdered? We can't say for certain these parents did it. But I had that wired feeling from the first moment that I saw their faces, too. But I realized some interesting stuff. Who is commenting on this subject? Let's say; at least half of the active commenters here have sadly made scaring experiences in sexual abuse in any form, in any age. This is a horrible fact in itself. The statistics says over 50% children in the age from 18 month up to 17 t had been victimized sexualy abused and exploited worldwide. But I am sure - truth will find a way. But we should not judge, because there is justice. Trust me. The one who did it will be found, it's his destiny. I have experienced tthat this Karma-Thing is doing a good job. Always keep your mind in balance and be aware of the power of your thoughts and dark wishes. Back to the point. There are a lot of silent survivors and we need to understand the pain they are suffering on on and on, because this sad case is a TRIGGER for each victim out there. Of course they wish for an end and justice. And yes of course someone with this kind of abuse can *feel* the strange signs that marks every pedophile. It's the behavior, the way they try to manipulate their own body language. But micro expressions and micro muscular tensions can't be controlled easily. The emptiness of a faces mimic is, the more tense is the skin between forehead and lower cheeks. To me Mrs McCann seems to be under psychopharmaceutical medication. She seems unable to make any markable mimic expressions or having trouble with her facial muscles to contract. It's a side effect of most tranquilizers of the heavy stuff. I used to work as a social worker for young drug addicts. You learn about things you never thought they are really true or necessarytoknow about. It changes the way you look at things around your environment and you feel their pain and how they ended up is the result of our own helplessness to solve the dimensions of problems that are urgent. One of it in some city, there could be a girl with the name Maddie.... who would listen to the nightmares that might happened to her? The things she might had to do, to survive? We just don't know what really happened. But we all can feel as parents, there is something wrong with that couple...

Drugging Maddie so she wouldnt wake up.... and very sadly, she never did imo.

The question is, why are they making documentaries when they can only come up with the same old stuff we heard a million times before?

So Kate left the twins in the apartment then went to the tapas bar to tell the others that Madeleine had been taken 😮 Wasn't Kate afraid that the supposed abductor might come back for the twins whilst she was making her way to the tapas bar??? The police officer said it was a 2 minute walk back to the tapas bar. No way would I have left my other 2 kids alone. Something is very wrong here.

Yes. 100 yards is probably as far as the house across the road that I am looking at now. People behave as if doctors are all normal caring professionals. I've worked with a variety of them in different roles for 30 ys and believe me there are some very unstable, nasty and untrustworthy among them, they're human, not above crime just because they're doctors doesn't mean you trust based on that title. Evidently these are not living up to any standard of being caring when they leave small children alone, too mean to pay for a babysitter. The comparison to having dinner in the garden at home is delusional, look at the distance from the bar to the holiday apartment - hardly akin to a back garden in home surroundings.

What an absolute disgraceful program. Their portrayal of the events of what happened that night are nothing short of laughable. The billowing curtains, the leaving the twins in the room, the immediate and to this day the unwavering conclusion that she'd been kidnapped. Just their lack of emotion during interviews (many of which they asked for!). Has anyone seen any actual tears shed? It's clear as day what happened - they over sedated her, she did wake up and went into the lounge, climbed up on the sofa to see if she could see her parents and fell down the back (the dogs alerted here) causing fatal injuries. The rest plays out as the big cover up. I think the so called bungling Portuguese police was exactly what they hoped would happen. They are guilty of manslaughter. But they will never be brought to justice.

It's one thing to make the mammoth error of leaving their children alone in an unlocked apartment in a known paedophile 'family friendly' resort and/or accidentally overdosing the poor child and quite another, to DENY any involvement at all, CONTINUE to lie and squirm like a serpent for 14 YEARS instead of just coming clean from the start and suffer the consequence. Surely, a few years in prison can't compare to a lifetime of hellish regret, trauma, endless media in your face, of a constant effort to look your best at all times etc... That’s a good question but, this is one of the stories that has changed several times. Gerry even changed it slightly in this documentary. Fact is, in their original statements they said the apartment was locked and they were all using the front doors for checking. When the police started to question the whole “key handover” procedure, they realised eye witnesses would not be able corroborate it. So they reluctantly had to change the story to it being the patio doors, which were not lockable from the outside…so they were unlocked. As you can see to this day, the McCanns still like the “whooshing” story but, they’ve changed it to say “that’s what alerted them to the possibility of an abduction…but not through the window…” That first lie has caused them problems from the very beginning and is consequently still evolving.

They have a real tough time ACTING like normal parents don’t they. They’re getting better at it though, this is a really polished production. If Gerry could surgically remove his own smirk, it would be a lot better…!

I have had enough of these two that tried to deflect the truth by blaming everybody else except themselves you would think that having children by IVF would make you more protective of your kids - as far as I’m concerned they treated them all like objects not as human beings left them and paid the price -I have no sympathy for those two, at all and it’s about time they were both arrested, one of them killed her. 🥊 and my kids who knew nothing about this case until last week and they are only a bit older than Madeleine , said without provocation- that Madeleine was killed by her parents.

Being that Maddie "disappeared" when she was only 3 years old... why would your children around the same young age even know anything about this "case" or even have the opinion, that her parents killed her??!.. What are they being told by you and what are they allowed to watch at such tender innocent ages?... My 5 year old knows nothing about this!

@@marleysankor umm, you need to reread that 😉 Her children are "only a bit older than Madeleine", meaning that her children are now about 20/21 years old. Which is the age they were when they first heard of this case.

It appears that the police came to the conclusion that the parents were somehow involved, then brought in the dogs after a suitable amount of time to confirm or dispel their mounting suspicions. The dogs were sent through quite a bit of subterfuge prior to the suspect crime scene and at least 10 different premises and 10 vehicles, they then moved the suspect objects (as they were shocked) to a totally different place and re-hid them under sand boxes, the sniffer dogs gave the same response in the new location.

The parents ought to have remained in police custody and interrogated to begin with. I have a very good friend whose husband drowned in the family swimming pool. The wife was the first suspect and was questioned intensely from the very start even though she herself worked for the Justice Department. The drowning was due to a drug overdose by the deceased husband while my friend was at work one day. Why was Kate not interrogated as to what she meant when she screamed, "THEY've take her! THEY've taken her!" ?

According to Goncalo Amaral, the dogs were brought in by the British police. The initial testing which took place in Portugal confirmed that the blood found found behind the sofa was Maddy’s. And the Portuguese and British police agreed that this, the only forensic evidence pointed at the “accidental death of Maddy in the apartment and subsequent cover up…” Unfortunately, Scotland Yard took over from this team and the trusting Portuguese handed over the only forensic evidence to them.

I do get that a mother of a missing child might be initially stunned and unable to show emotion but months and YEARS after without a single wet tear in sight, only crocodile tears and a fake contorted face? And one of the best observations I've read so far is that in most typical situations like this, the initial cry of a mother or anyone first discovering a loved one missing or deceased is, 'NO! NO!" in incredulous horror, not "They've taken her!" 😮‍💨

Well spotted, that was the first lie the McCanns and their mates told and it has changed several times. In normal circumstance it would be the noise around their necks but, nothing is normal in this case.

The ever evolving ever changing story of the “locked apartment and the cuddle cat…!” The new bit is the “abductor grabbing it out of the arms of Maddy…!” So, when she washed it not only did she wash away the smell of her precious little girl, she washed away forensic evidence of the “abductor…!” These lies just become more and more tortuous by the year.

The UK police, Blair’s top spin doctor and a host of high ranking government officials & former officials landed in Portugal and took control. So don’t blame it on the Portugal police. The McCanns refused to cooperate and insisted their daughter was “abducted”. No evidence, but UK press repeated whatever Clarence Mitchell told them. To top it off the parents didn’t bother to search that night, their stories didn’t match their friends’ accounts. The cadaver dog brought in from England got several hits indicating the family. Meanwhile the family was jetting around from the Pope to Washington DC, then complain nobody’s looking as they take millions from the public fund for personal use. You criticize Portugal for trying to do just that. £14,000,000 and UK police have no more than Portugal.

100%. The first Portuguese/Police team did alright. They brought in the British sniffer dogs and jointly agreed on the conclusion which is now attributed to Goncalo Amaral. Now that the McCanns lost their case against him in the European Court of Human Rights, anyone can read it in his truthful book “ Truth of the Lie”. It all went pear shaped when they trustingly handed everything over to Scotland Yard.
