In regards to the first case with Mrs Leyshon, the killer was jailed two years later. A 17 year lad called Mathew Hardman was convicted, like the copper said he was local only living a few hundred yards from the house. He removed her heart and put it in a saucepan, then made three incisions in her leg and drank the blood in hopes it would turn him into a vampire, earlier he had asked a German student to bite him to make him a vampire. The press called him the vampire killer and he had a number of books in his collection on the subject. He was sentenced to life in prison in 2002.

You can see how the world was changing compared to 1980s and 1990s Crimewatch episodes. It still though wasnt the era of number plate recognition or the smart phone. These days, those road attackers would have been caught very quickly.

Christ - that woman walking around Ipswich after she walked out on her friends at the nightclub. Ipswich had a notorious red light district - serial killer Steve Wright picked up many of his victims there. That woman is lucky to be alive.

Hello Redcard74 it appears that the June 1989 episode is also missing from KZbin. It appears this one was unfortunately overlooked when the lists of "lost from KZbin" were originally written.

Hi There was not a June 1989 programme. Mostly from 1988 to 1996 Crimewatch runs from September - June, however in 1989 there was no June show but instead there was one in July.
