Just listened to a podcast yesterday that were the first details that I have heard about her account. To paraphrase, the accuser, who was wearing a skirt, said that she was motioned to come over to TSJ. They were in a crowded place (bar) and that the accused, grabbed her behind and slid his finger under her skirt. The accuser later went to the hospital to get dna evidence. There was none found. Those are the details thus far. Ok. Let’s say this did happen. Not knowing the details on what constitutes “rape” in each state, so, I can’t say anything to that. But from a lamens perspective this doesn’t seem to fall under what most would consider rape! Sexual assault? Maybe. The thing is: first in court you have to be able without a question of a doubt be able to prove it. The place sounded very crowded, there is no video evidence to corroborate her claim. Remembering my days in college, being in bars that were asses to elbows, it could have been anyone. TSJ was accompanied by a grad assistant that was with him the entire time and has denied this ever happened. Knowing just what I have described and not knowing anymore than that, it seems odd someone would go to the hospital to get a dna test from this. This all seems fishy and flimsy at best. I get this put the university in an awkward position and I don’t fault the university. This goes far deeper than this incident for the university. This happened in September and TSJ played until charges were filed. Once it became public their hands were tied. I think Illinois’ AD has a degree in law, so he knew he had to do what he had to do. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. I believe eventually this will get thrown out. However the damage has been done. This will cost TSJ on several accounts. If this is found to be a “set up” the accuser should face the consequences and be charged with entrapment with the intent to extort financial gains. We can’t have people just accusing others of fictitious acts to make money. Rape is a very serious charge that ruins the reputation of the one falsely accused. This will hover over this young man for life. He will have his day in court and I hope his lawyers don’t allow this just to be thrown out. If proven innocent they should counter sue and the consequences for extortion are taken seriously.

Illinois and Kansas are rivals because Self was Illinois’ coach prior to going to Kansas. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but I saw the other day that he was supporting TSJ. Self supposedly said the same girl had attempted the same thing with some of his players. I don’t believe she didn’t know who he was, as she claimed. If she was after money. She would go after money from someone she knew had money. Shannon was doing well with his NIL money.

In latest news: On January 12, lawyers representing Shannon and the University of Illinois argued in federal court over his basketball team suspension. The first court hearing is scheduled for January 18 in Douglas County.

Kansas and Illinois are not rivals, let alone big rivals. The last time they played was in 2011 (a scrimmage does not a rival make). They played five other times throughout their hundred some year long histories. Illinois is 3-3 in those games. Shannon was not arrested on a return game trip to Kansas. I suppose most of the rest of the video is accurate. Nice ad for your company.

Thank goodness KZbin is putting a stop to Adam Rossen's incessant use of the R-Word in this video by bleeping him each time, right when it should. Technically he bleeps himself ( or his editor). KZbin doesn’t edit anyone’s videos. Creators don’t say certain words because KZbin will throw an age restriction on the video which makes it not really show up as a suggested video, or they’ll remove the video altogether.
