She wasn’t dodging questions. In her opening statement she said there were some questions she couldn’t answer, that to not misspeak and to be factual, she wouldn’t be able to answer until the FBI finished their investigation. Even local police don’t answer questions until an investigation in finished. Imagine if she said something and later more information was discovered. She be accused of lying that day, or rushing the investigation and the theories would go nuts. The only thing she said she wouldn’t answer were names of agents and certain tactics in live tv but could answer them behind doors. Completely responsible in her part.

I don't know why everyone is talking about the secret service at all. The secret services were changed to the CIA in Sept 1947, following the Roswell event in July. But the CIA are great at avoiding questions and aren't notoriously known for doing the right thing. They set up and performed hundreds of thousands of mind control experiments on unwilling, unknowing U.S. citizens, especially prison inmates, drug rehab patients and mentally ill patients. From giving them hallucinogenic substances like LSD, mescaline, mushrooms, ecstacy, THC acetate, barbiturates, combined with hypnosis, sleep deprivation, sensory deprivation, depatterning, psychic driving, electroshock therapy, etc. They converted people with mild mental illnesses into vegetables, totally dependent on nurses to take care of them for the rest of their lives. It's on every single government operated website today, from the CIA website, the Senate, the NSA, the FOIA website, etc. Disgusting. They smuggled Nazi scientists into the country following WW2, against direct orders from the president and they did it, anyways. They are ultimately who runs this country, period. They do whatever they want, whenever they want and Eisenhower warned the military industrial complex was gaining too much unwarranted power and no one did anything about it. ALMOST JFK all over again, because there was much more behind that than what meets the eye, but there's too many conspiracies to know which one is valid.... except most people with a brain would prefer Trump to have gotten shot over the 3 random, innocent people in the audience who did. At least they aren guilty of like 82 felonies and didnt have r*** charges against them, from 13-14 year old girls, from the 1990s. Trump and Epstein scared these girls into silence and actually, Epstein was murdered during the time that this trial was set to take place and his murder ensured that Jane Doe didnt testify agaisnt Trump. She was afraid she would be next following Epstein's death, which was NOT self harm. . This was likely a set up for some reason. Not the kid and the gun, but it seems like the CIA was HOPING Trump ended up dead. And why did Biden drop out, it's a guarantee that Trump will win now, when no one knows who this new Democrat even is.

Not excusing them here but it's normal that they don't want to give a lot of information wen things are still being investigated and information might still be very inaccurate. Congress didn't need to do this hearing right there and could have waited for facts to be properly stated. Because that operation also involved local law enforcement it's normal to take more time for the 2 agencies to elaborate a full comprehensive report. Again not excusing the failure here but reports can't be done that fast and be accurate.

Yep, so many things were just really off lol. It was like everybody didn't expect the individual to miss and than started to panic because they didn't have a backup plan lol. Having the shortest person "blocking" the potential vantage point for a would be assailant is down right crazy. Whole thing was insane, not to mention a guy actually getting his shots off, sure there are rules for engagement (secret service can't just open fire without just cause) but the sniper rifle has a scope for a reason lol. Not to mention the fact that civilians noticed the would be assassin before police/secret service. Surprised the sniper didn't make a sandwich while he was setting up just plain lunacy.

But here's the flip side: if the head of the Secret Service HAD been able to produce a report in six days you can bet your bottom dollar there would be members of congress screaming "How could you possibly submit a thorough report a mere six days after the event? What are you covering up?" It's a no-win situation for her but she should be gone. Bye now. 🙂

Ms Ocasio-Cortez brought the class back into this hearing. The calmness, the consideration for the American people by explaining the intention of this hearing - not all of them immediately know the intention - and her well-prepared questions were top notch. And you can immediately see that she got more answers than the rest.

Like showing up to court with no documents, no prep, no homework done. But it's cool, you caught part of an episode of Matlock last night at the bar. The sound was off, but you're pretty sure you got the gist of it. You're totally fine to just wing it.

Regardless of the incompetence of this security detail, the disrespectful language is indicative of how we’ve gone off the rails. You can be angry, but respect the process. This is grandstanding. So frustrating. Conduct the investigation - don’t prematurely interview the director for soundbites.

As a non-American i have one issue specifically with the question how many times she turned down additional assets and/or funding for Trumps Secret Service team. I do not think that the institution of the Secret Service is there to 100% fulfill every single request of any ex-president. As Bruce said in the video itself his dad was guarding a bridge when the president came... These things are a massive effort and in most cases are super expensive that in the end citizens have to pay for with their tax money. So let me give you an example: Former president Obama decides to write a book and go on a tour throughout the entire US to give lectures on it. Lets say 3 months, every day another city. The amount of money a full location sweep and full security this would cost, people would not imagine, let alone the time it would take. And all for what is essentially egoistical reason. Trump was effectively pushing his campaign, while not being the official candidate. Egoistiical reasons. Im open for discussion. Also i saw an interview with an ex-Secret Service agent. He defended the sniper team and his points made sense. Apparently the Snipers are there to cover a 360° radius way beyond the 300 feet mark where the shooter was located. His scope was most likely adjusted to a much higher distance. And you can see it in the videos. The sniper had to actually take a moment and scout the close environment to realize where the assassin actually was. At that point every single protection measure had already failed. And he did his job at the end. Out of all the people involved he is probably the least person to blame.

Well this isn’t accurate. I don’t see where Obama did a book tour. His wife did a book tour, but it was 6 citites. Trump has not stopped doing rallies since he started because he makes money. We pay for him to grift and it’s ridiculous. He does hrs and hrs of rambling over and over to make himself money and we, the citizens, pay for it. I’d love to see actual statistics on how much has been spent on him compared to others. I guarantee it doubles.

It's true that Trump could have been asking for a thousand agents plus tanks and fighter jets for every single rally or something equally outrageous. I wouldn't doubt that at least some of the requests fell in that category. That's why it was important when one of the representatives asked the director about the nature of the requests that got turned down. It would help clarify whether or not some had been reasonable. I disagree that this rally is by itself egotistical in the same way a book tour from a retired president was. He was already by far the most popular candidate for the Republican party, so these rallies were more or less directly for the presidency. The nature of the rally and the things he says during it wouldn't change after he had officially become the nominee. He was campaigning to be president and to do that you have to hold rallies. You just do. They even had these rallies back in 2020 during covid because you simply can't get the same effect over a video monitor. The sort of people that would vote for him have to be able to go see him in person. There were 20,000 people there, which meant it also pretty much *had* to be outdoors and partially vulnerable to these sorts of things. There are a limited number of buildings in the entire country that can hold that many people and they are rarely available. That expands the amount of agents that are needed in order to secure a rally like this. I agree that the sniper team did an excellent job. Within 4 or so seconds he found the target, readjusted the range. and shot the gunman from an awkward angle. I haven't really heard anyone criticizing the person who took down the shooter. The outrage is over the fact that the gunman was able to get into position to fire at all, which is a logistics issue.

They also denied a Secret Service detail to RFK Jr who is a popular 3rd party candidate whose dad and uncle were both killed in political assassinations despite the fact that there has been several credible threats on RFK Jr’s life so I mean…. I don’t think there’s any defense at all for turning down the assets requested.

I think 1 of the worst thing's is the Secret Service has lost some of its "impenetrable best in the world security force" stereotype/mystic among the international community. Which in turn may lead to other's assassins (citizen's or foreigners) trying to imitate Thomas Crooks cuz they now believe the SS isn't as GREAT as we all once thought. Hopefully that isn't the case and both presidential candidates remain safe.
