Security in schools should make children's safety almost guaranteed. Like you said you can't get anything to 0%. Put metal detectors, panic rooms in classrooms. So many things could be done but sadly many places only do the bare minimum. Usually involves little to no security, locking a door, and turning off the light.

Things that can be done to help reduce the number of mass shootings: - pass red flag laws in every state so that guns don't get into hands of people that shouldn't have them for safety purposes - making sure that every gun store is actually following the background check waiting period - you must complete a mental health screening as well to purchase a gun - making sure that every single person who wants a gun must have a gun license(with 3 year renewal period) - making sure that all gun shows and conventions are federally regulated - getting rid of the dickey amendment with prohibits the study of gun violence for both the CDC and NIH - reducing the access to assault guns - Just like alcohol, people can cannot purchase guns unless they are 21+ - for mass shooting at schools, have school psychologist available for those who need it - train teachers to look for warning signs of heightened aggression, "loner'' attitudes, and emotional distress - teach the importance of talking about what you are going through whether it be bullying or mental illness early on in school - employ anti-bullying strategies in all middle and high schools whether private, public, or charter These some ideas that I have had for 7 to 8 years now. I have grown up in the mass shooting generation where it has become so normalized and that is not how it should be. I want real change and it sucks that politicians are just out for corporate greed and don't fix the things that are the most broken in our society. I know that I might get hate from these suggestions but any law-abiding citizen would still be able to get a gun if they wanted to as long as they were in the right headspace and the appropriate age. ✨I know its a long comment but I love your reactions, it made go rewatch the series for the 8th time. I love when I remember the episode distinctly and you are wondering who the unsub is and I already know. Keep it up! ✨❤

Another thing I’ve always thought of is having a practice permit to license system like we do for cars. You have to have x amount of hours at a shooting range to have a license for a certain type of gun to get a license to personally own and operate one. There would be different licenses with different requirements for things like hunting rifles, hand guns, shot guns, assault rifles (which would probably be restricted to the military) like we do with buses, semi-trucks, and the like. A written safety test as well.

Such a good episode. I always am surprised when I watch American television, the way they describe cliques etc, it's SO different here. People just have their friend groups & it's not so extreme. Sometimes people are excluded but there's not major bullying. If someone doesn't like you they just don't invite you somewhere. We definitely don't have the stereotypical cliques like they show in American movies/tv etc. I've been told this is how it is though, one of my friends went to live in Nebraska for a couple years in high school and she said the cliques and bullying there was so bad. Very different than it is here.

In my country there was one mass shooting and from that point on all the guns were taken away and they started doing inspection of the home and storage of the gun before purchasing the guns as well as a mental and medical check ups, for the most part farmer got guns so there was never a bad accident again after that, although American will never take that action as kindly as we did, most didn't like it but still handed them over.

Why cant you take the guns away? If you cant get the guns easily then no mass shootings happening every few weeks in america! It works for the uk ireland australia all countries that dont allow guns by law!
@SimpleReactions
@SimpleReactions Жыл бұрын
You can't strip over 300 million guns away from over 300 million citizens. That is not a possible solution, you have to find a different solution. This is not the UK, this is not Ireland, this is not Australia. I don't know why people keep comparing countries when its not a realistic comparison. Its not possible.

@@SimpleReactions fair enough I just feel like the gun laws in America are so dated now you had laws that are in place now from a time where guns were very very different to the guns are available now you don't need assault rifles but hey what do I know it's just very sad to see people losing there lives so needlessly!
@SimpleReactions
@SimpleReactions Жыл бұрын
I highly doubt the brilliant minds that created the laws for guns were that dumb to not expect civilization to continue to evolve and grow to the guns there are today, 1700s was not that long ago, people who wrote those laws experienced drastic change in technology themselves. I highly doubt they had no expectations of technology changing further. On top of that you can't get assault rifles so idk what you're talking about without insane checks. I think you are talking about an AR, which is not an assault rifle and does not stand for "Assault Rife". Most shootings are not done by assault rifles they are done by handguns. In fact I do not recall a single instance an assault rifle was used in a shooting because they are nearly impossible to obtain. Any article or source claiming an "assault rifle" has been used is most likely inaccurate and a political attempt to attack guns and sway minds of those who are not informed enough on the situation to help their own political push.

Ahh prank war was great. Ahh I'm not from US, so I will only say it is scary when we hear about it. Sad and scary. And like you said the worst is that nothing really is changing. I heard some schools have like metal detectors but it dosen't mean nothing on todays reality, like you said if someone what to do something they will.

Schools need more security, metal detectors, and better monitoring, procedures, and school support programs to deal with prevention. You can't protect the most vulnerable with a sign that says "you can't bring that in here". Up the security, create more jobs, and add better measures to stop it from happening.
@maddskillz1982
@maddskillz1982 Жыл бұрын
@@SimpleReactionsI’m not sure what you mean by monitoring and procedures, but it sounds like it will cost money. Especially when you talk about new jobs. Most schools don’t have the funds. Besides things like metal detectors won’t stop someone who want to shoot up a school
@SimpleReactions
@SimpleReactions Жыл бұрын
Monitor potential risks, have the proper procedures when an event may occur or monitor situations where they may be planned. ahead of time to stop it... What do you mean most schools don't have funds? Schools get funds all the time from taxes, the government and many other ways. Private schoosl have their own way. Funding is not an issue here at all when its literally only a matter of the government doing it instead of continuing to waste time.... That's kinda what the added security is for. You have more security you stop someone from shooting. Proven literally everywhere, like airports and government buildings.

With regards school shootings , you might not be ready to surrender your right to bear arms but you can limit the type of weaponry you sell Outside the USMilitary no one needs weapons of war, automatic guns etc. There are solutions, check out the result of the school shooting in Dunblane Scotland, it's an eye opener.
@SimpleReactions
@SimpleReactions 7 ай бұрын
You can't get automatic weapons and most shootings are done with handguns so I don't know what you're talking about. You also can't strip over 300 million guns from law abiding citizens because they're "scary". And you can't compare the US to a Country who doesn't have anything close to the same situations. There is not a single country outside of the US that can be used as a logical comparison. What you can do is increase protection.
