I grew up in NYC. I am currently 58. When I was 13 I was on the subways alone. There were a lot of active crimes gangs and drugs everywhere. How is it worse than ever, with much better security systems in place? It is as if technology is not even worth having. All that extra stuff for crime to get worse. Explain this better if you can.

Here's the answer. It isn't about controlling crime. It's about appearing to control crime.

@@ortho-g9826 So all the cameras all over the place are just for appearance. That is great. Go ahead prove your own theory. I bet you if you committed a major crime with a face mask on and are recorded in the criminal act with no possibility of doubt, the Police would be at your door in less than 48 hrs. That is to me the time needed to find a major criminal. In todays technological era that is...

Our subways and airports are not upgraded like in the UK, JFK airport is like a dump and it is the main international hub on the east coast. Our subways are nothing but tin cans that rattle along the tracks. China has applied the latest tech in their rails with maglev traveling at speeds of up to 500 km per hr. They have taxis and buses that drive themselves (no drivers). While the dummies who lead this country are incompetent, don't give a damn about the ppl they are supposed to serve and have no foresight for the future, they're all a blank slate, all they care about is how much they are getting from the various lobbies to fatten their wallets. All they do is demonize China and try to bring down their economy because we can't compete
