If you're looking for some beefy call outs, Ness got in a pretty bizarre situation with a guy, cause the more they battled, the more it changed rules, more people were going nuts, everybody wanted to dance .. I'm telling you, it was a mad vibe But yeah ... Definitely felt that Waël was coasting too much on that call out. It looked more like he wasn't being serious at all. The one you liked (Namu), you did see him at the Fc prelims in 2019 with his partner Anaïs and wrecking shit up haha. He's also a beatmaker who did the PSG track and some other newer tracks on recent events, partnering with Arabic Flavor a lot ! Really talented guy.

Larry and Laurent are SO different when they really are going hard or going in their Workshop or other performances (I think Iam only able to really see what they are able to do when you watch through all these parts of them...they are insane how much they can dance too and how good) Battles are just different for me idk

@@heni63 I think they aren't motivated to battle anymore. It feels like one of their crew members forces them to come join them lol. Larry could go so much harder but you could tell he was tired after his rounds. Normally they dance for hours without getting tired in their workshops

I think we can't judge Larry by the usual criteria because his style and interpretation of hip-hop are just way different and borderline, not hip-hop. e.g. he has insane stops, animation, waves, krump-looking kill-offs, etc. that is clear to see and enjoy. I also disagree with what he was playing around with in that second song: he took the lyrics on super hard a lot of the time, only touched that weird super-fast background thing once, and effortlessly went back and forth in terms of lyric and beat (albeit mainly that one bass thing). I think he represented the second song infinitely better than Wael (who has an argument to take both rounds if we're talking "hip-hop freestyle"). I just don't know what to make of Larry. For someone that's clearly put in the hours in hip-hop and mastery of the elements, I think we should accept that he's an over-innovator in his style and just enjoy it for what we can see just from a dance perspective (and from someone that is not young and hungry, has nothing to prove, etc.)

If you don’t judge him by “the usual criteria” then what do you judge him on? He doesn’t get special treatment as he is also entitled to throw down however he chooses. It’s the critiques and conversations that help better understand what we’re even watching. I spoke on him being stuck on specific beats towards the beginning of the round. He has momentary differences in between but was still following a specific pattern with the music that became predictable. I only offer an objective opinion with perspectives and look to openly discuss the topic at hand. Larry, as “innovative” as he is still falls under some sort of criteria especially if he enters a battle under a specific style. I accept his movement for what it is and still enjoy it at times.
