Yes, Japanese style diamond-shaped prongs. They also have the French-style irons which are awesome!

I ordered a few tools from Crimson, including several paring knives, and they’re very good quality. I also like that they’re reasonably priced. For a few extra bucks, I recommend the express shipping-which took about a week to arrive here in the US.

They’re pretty amazing, I can punch through 3/8 inch and pull them out easily

DC 53 Stella is a very durable, high carbon steel that is the preferred steel for punches, metal rollers, dies, etc. It conforms to a 61/ 62 on the Rockwell hardness scale. Not much harder and durable. My $400 Santoku chefs knife is a 60 hardness, for example. To say this is superior to the cheap eBay pricking irons is putting it mildly.

Thanks for the background, I have an original black knife from ox Forge with a 440c blade. Do you have any reviews on your chef knives?

I mention my knifes to offer a value comparison. My kitchen knives are made by New West knife works, from a high premium, relatively new steel, s35n. I think it is similar in many ways to a DC53 steel. Just my way of saying that the Crimson pricking irons are made of really nice, durable steel, which should have no trouble going through most leather.
