Notched in the back for co-witneds... I'm trying to put on a p322, but because of that notch, it doesn't sit flat in the slide cutout. Do I need a plate even though they are listed as compatible?

It more depends on the plate on the p322.

Great question. I'm not sure about that. I know the Glock 19 MOS comes with multiple mounting plates, so it should fit that.
