In many cultures dogs and cats are not regarded as companion animals but in many cases as food like pigs, sheep and cattle. As such, there are no penalties for selling and buying and selling dogs and cats for food. A number of these cultures are being challenged by more 'enlightened' campaigners to be kinder to our animal friends. It all takes time and has lots of push backs by hardliners but hopefully the animal lovers will win out. In the meantime we must have patience and understand that change can only come with education and by example. May all those who lovingly care for the defenceless be mightily blessed.

Ich hoffe auch, dass sich in diesen Ländern das Bewusstsein ändert und die Menschen Hunde und Katzen als treue Gefährten und Familienmitglieder begreifen!! Es braucht Zeit. In Südkorea ist nun ab 2027 Hundefleisch (Hundeschlachtung) verboten worden!!
