This move isn't as dumb as you think it is. Of the 61 billion, 20 billion is to purchase weapons from US own defense contractors. So basically they used Ukraine as an excuse to transfer 20 billion straight from US taxpayers to the pocket of defense contractors. Rest of them is humanitarian aid but we know that even that has to be bought from the US this time profiting US automobile or pharma companies. And on top of this, US has also managed to involve itself in the Israel-Hamas conflict which is just more money for the US defence companies.

Except that the other countries who are anti-nato don’t have enough in common to cobble together a military relationship beyond the fact they dislike nato. Western countries have common values (whether you agree with them or not) and, by and large, fairly robust and diverse economies which tie them together. Russia will find it hard to find alliance partners, apart from rogue countries such as N Korea, Belarus or Iran, who would want to be part of anything which might drag them into conflict unnecessarily, which would inevitably happen with Russia’s belligerent attitude toward nato.

I wrote this earlier but I’ll do so again a Canadian on behalf of Ukraine mercenary returned from the Russian front and experienced this about 30 of his fellow soldiers were hit with a bomb containing white phosphorus as they were being burned alive and screaming from the pain he could hear the gunshots ring out as each of them took their own lives , you could see the trauma in this man’s face as he recalled this story, it obviously haunts him.
