Amazing words from Chris. As a fan for selfish reasons you want to see him play, but as a person you want to see people win and win at life. I'm with Chris. Gordon needs help. Hes at a point were he can't save himself from himself.. Anyone willing to forgo millions in salary over...drugs ??...needs help and I'm rooting for him.

To: Josh Gordon, I don't even know if you'll ever see this but I want you to know that the first few glimpses of you catching and running with a football reminded me of the great Jerry Rice, I love your talent on the football field, but your true and real fans love you more as a person. We know you can overcome the demons of addiction, and are in your corner from now until the end. Dust yourself off and get back to life, keep your head up, you got this. Football is just a childhood game we play and some are blessed with gifts to be professionals at it. Life is not a game, its real and we support you, Chris Carter supports you and in the end its about you getting the help and support you need. Your legacy will not be defined by this story. Today is the first day of the rest of your life, and everyday you have a chance to change your legacy. We love you brother. #SupportJoshGordon.

@jameswarner300
@jameswarner300 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can remember when Carter was with the Eagles, is was this extremely talented wide receiver, but was incredibly hot headed and arrogant. Dude was strung all the way out on drugs back then, and his then coach Buddy Ryan use to give him the business because he was always underachieving as an athlete. I can remember his days at Ohio State when he took money from an agent and let his team down on the biggest stage before a bowl game. Yeah Cris had a long history of failures, so nobody is more qualified to talk about professional athletes off the field than he.

@@wolf2109 Cris Carter is a great person, but his only huge weakness as a TV personality, is that he is EXTREMELY condescending towards Nick and Jenna. if he could remove that from his personality, he could raise his game to another level. But this last time I was shocked because I really see this young man really has an addiction. I feel for him and hope he gets himself together. Like Chris said...it makes you realize the power of addiction.

B84 J84 ? How much more of rock bottom could he go. He was on a hof path. He maybe made 7 mil and someone of his talent could of easily got a dez Bryant deal a Odell deal he probably missed out on 50 mil easy. He only played like 5 games since 2013. On top of that his locker was next to TOM BRADY. I think and pray he gets his life together. I’m a patriots fan to the death of me. As this is sad and I wanted to see my team win the bowl this year w/o Gordon it’s highly unlikely but I’d rather see Gordon get his life together than win the super bowl. Because unlike people in these comments I care for fellow HUMAN BEINGS.

Respect to CC for that powerful statement. We can’t clown Josh Gordon behind something he can’t control. Also what is not being addressed is WHAT is causing him to fall back to his addiction. There are some demons he is struggling with internally that is making him go back to drugs. We need to rally around Josh Gordon and let him know he is loved and is not alone. We all know people who are addicts. Friends, family, etc. I hope people are more helpful in trying to have these people defeat their addiction as opposed to just making fun of them. Peace.

Aunchient Pistol you see i don’t think it’s like that... once addiction has that strong of a grasp on you it’s not the users choice anymore. They can’t help it. You have to find the right time when they have some sort of control where they can let someone know they need help. It’s much more complicated then the user just making the choice to stop. There are no choices when under the influence

For those that don't know the history of Cris Carter, Yeah I can remember when Carter was with the Eagles, is was this extremely talented wide receiver, but was incredibly hot headed and arrogant.

I can't believe people say you can't be addicted while players like Josh Gordon and M.Bryant are losing 7 figure jobs because they can't stop. The worst part is I can guarantee no one in their entourage is doing anything to help them get better because you can see it when the squad is just there to live off you instead of thinking about you as a person. then again, you can't help someone if they don't help themselves.
