It's not a tight fade or a skin fade, but it is a fade. It's a 1 open at the crown and it fades into an open taper at the bottom. It's a very blurry/shadow fade.

As soon as he went into the ridge with the 1 guard he destroyed any chance of a descent fade. Respect the ridge! very important in barbering.

Beardbrand works with so many great barbers. I’ve seen so many great barbers on this channel. Jarod and James would be two of the people I wouldn’t hesitate to let cut my hair and trim my beard. If I ever find myself close to their shop I will have to stop in and get a haircut.

I like the way you cut tops for the same reason you mentioned. The texture changes the length anyway which works for hair like mine and his. I don’t like when it’s all perfect at one length because it sits weird for my head shape, texture works well for certain styles

Great video as always.. Loving the vibe of your shop. Question for ya. For a home user, keep a beard tidy and also add detail shape, so, really close to the skin. Which clipper would you recommended to buy? I was looking at Wahl details or Andis T Outline but ideally want an adjustable one with a selection of guards and the ability to fit a T wide blade. . I’m still in school these videos are helpful I’ve never tried the thinning shears on my short cuts but I’ve been practicing a bit of point cutting to soften here and there definitely helps seeing how you all shape the beards since we don’t learn much about it in Cosmo school !

Sam Nee guy doesn’t even grow hair in one spot (no hair follicles) that was previously covered by hair that was laying down. It’s called a high fade because it fades from 0 to .5 near the top. I’d like to see you cut someone’s hair. You can even see the bald spot before the hair is even cut

They cut the crown off if there is a cowlick that's too sprouty it helps the haircut come together rather than a nice cut on top and then the cowlick distracting from it all.

I typically almost always try to go a barber who he himself has a beard. He’s more likely to understand the struggles, goals, pitfalls in growing/maintaining a beard. I know it a a generalization, but I feel as though clean-shaven barbers are not fans of the look and might purposely or even subconsciously sabotage/ruin a perfectly fine beard.

I live in a country where majority of males have very sparse to no facial hair at all. I haven't encountered a barber who has beard so it's very hard to explain what beard shape I want, and if I do, it doesn't tyrn out the way I wanted it. So i just do the beard trim myself and when i visit the barber, i just ask him to clean up what i did.

I feel as though he has the potential to be an outstanding barber, he just needs to work on his bedside manner. He’s a lil rough with moving the clients head around, and the borderline headlock during the shave. Slow it down and be a lil more conscious of the comfort of the client. 👌🏻
