Crispix (1983) & Double Dip Crunch (1992)

In an attempt to compete with Chex cereal, Kellogg's released CRISPIX in 1983. The cereal featured a combo of rice and corn -- one on each side of the cereal pieces. It was simple and plain, but still a great cereal. However, Double Dip Crunch was Crispix with nuts & honey and it was amazing.

Speaking of mixing grains, you should do a video on Team Flakes (rice, wheat, corn, & oats), from Nabisco, when they made cereals. It was my favorite as a kid, a thousand years ago. You could also compare it to Product 19, Kellogg's inferior knockoff.

I just had a bowl of Crispix, so yes, I am very much a fan. I used to love the Double Dip Crunch commercial from the early 90s, not the one you showed here, it was different one. Alas, I never got to try Double Dip Crunch, though.

Crispix is crispy times two! It's one of the 5% of cereals that I consider to be edible, and I used to eat it. Gabe, this may be the only cereal we'd both eat. I never ate Double Dip Crunch, but it's an inedible sugar bomb to me.

I haven't eaten Crispix or any delicious sugary cereal before this whole quarantine was imposed on the land. The only cereal available at my pad is just boring old Cheerios. At least, I have some delicious Quaker Instant Peaches and Cream Oatmeal. I hope you're doing well and I hope everyone else is doing well.

Though it's usually made with rice and corn, AU/NZ headquarters does a different recipe made with corn and barley and on the other hand does a gluten free item for some groups.

what we all learn how to remake double dip crunch by dipping the Crispix in Honey and nuts by ourselves, all we need are the recipes and ingredients!

I somehow found crispix used to have a barley base sub ingredient, some reason they switched from it to brown rice syrup. If the corn flakes including frosted and rice krispies including cocoa krispies are gonna have barley base sub ingredients, it should have been distilled, gluten removed. Maltose would be the term if malt syrup gets distilled. Most special K varieties have whole grain wheat, and uncomplimentary wheat bran. The original variety itself has uncomplimentary gluten "vital gluten", and wheat germ. dispite that it is rice flakes just as any brand would be formulated.

I think Ralston still makes cereal under the name Ralston Foods. My grandma gets boxes every week and gives them to me. Its just off brand cereals like cheerios, corn flakes and hexagonal chex.

I LOVE Crispix (they're my favorite along with corn flakes) and I don't think they taste at all like corn or rice Chex. They're a lot sweeter and crispier, while Chex are crunchier.

Have you thought about branching into the more organic brands, like Cascades Farms or Nature’s Path. I know they’re lacking in any history that might fill time, but maybe consolidate a few brands into one video. I love cereal but it’s hard to “daily” some of the less healthy stuff so I’ve branched to the stuff that isn’t quite as processed.

Chex is Crispix without the great taste. I remember seeing Biz Markie on MTV or BET back in the day talking about eating Crispix with sugar and AC Slater was on Snoops web show talking about Crispix but Snoop wasnt having it cuz it wasnt a sugary cereal. Snoop just needs to add some sugar to it. Though I could eat Crispix without sugar unlike Rice Krispies and Corn Flakes. Crispix is a top 3 cereal for me.
