When I watch high quality videos, I take notes with timestamps. Each key point has a heading. Square brackets are my own thoughts. Some brilliant moments I have written [Wow Epiphany] My favourite points are on Feelingness, Quitting and My reason on Earth. Thank you Michael for this wonderful video. It is just too valuable. I cannot thank you enough. To improve 2:36 I will say what I believe to get you better. You may be pissed off in the interim. But in the long-term, you will get better. Philosophy 5:50 My life is not some big hoopla pep rally. I am a philosopher of the mind. About how far we can go. I did that on purpose because no one knew who Goggins was. Responsibility 11:30 it is all on me. My dad is fucked up. My mum is fucked up. 16:30 That feeling stuck with me. This is what I need everyday throughout life. I don’t need someone to say ‘Good job David’ or give me a pat on my back. Everything is internal. Cleaning the tyres changed everything. It just morphed into a man: we have to get it done regardless. 17:30 We always fall back on what is comfortable. Mindset Shift 21:10 Nothing is permanent. You may lose who you are in the suffering. It is not just physical. There are so many forms of suffering it is not funny. 23:10 Lying like a fucking bitch. Knifed David in the porter potty and Goggins came out. It was the most epic ending of any race I can ever remember. This shows what the determined mind can do. There is no David Goggins Goggins. There is just David fucking Goggins. He just changed his mindset. My feet still hurt. Everything was still the same. The thing that changed was how I approached my situation. I no longer wanted to be a victim of this race. I wanted to dominate in the most harshest of environments. Resourcefulness and Antifragility [Wow] 25:40 I am a savage. Mike is a fellow savage. I know what I am doing to his mind. I am using him as the ultimate ammunition as 2 savages. 1 savage knows the other savage has already gone 200 miles. I am fucking with Mike. I am using him as fuel, using his anger. This is my boy but I am using him. I want him to be mad at me so he can bring the best out of me. He calls his wife. He calls my girl Jennifer. ‘This guy just dropped me.’ Real race was gone. It is now just me and Mike. Just 2 guys out there going at it. I pissed him off. It was beautiful. [Wow] Antifragile Attitude 27:40 A normal person would be defeated. So you rise above the normal human. Therefore you own a part of their soul. 29:00 While u take a soul, that state of mind, a smart person will see this and you will elevate them. [raising everyone’s game]. I did this to my boat crew. They saw my elevation. Hence they elevated themselves. Use all sad faces as ammunition. You are in an environment most people wont succeed and you thrive in this environment. Truth [Wow Epiphany moment] 30:50 I am a lie detector. When you get close to me, you find that watch in the sand. When people are round me, they know they are not trying. They judge themselves without me saying anything. They go through their everyday resume. They are not doing enough. It makes them very angry at me or at whoever is working hard. Haters Funny 33:05 I have no time to go on your social media. First it shows I am not a man. 2nd it shows I am a bitch. 33:36 You will never meet a hater doing better than you [Wow] Philosopher 35:40 People think I am just some warrior. Most of ability comes from discipline of mind. People did not think I can write deep books. I can give you 10 years of life in 3 pages. Motivation for me now is I go to school. I learn. This is where philosophical side of me comes from. 37:40 Mind, through my suffering, was my ultimate training ground. I am writing from the callused mind. I am writing from real world savage people. I put no money into marketing. It is the hard discipline of Sargent Jack. Perspective When people see 4 walls, I see a massive empty space that deserves creativity to make it look beautiful. 40:00 When 24 hours is a day, for me this is 5 days. I have to make up time. I am behind. I have to go to summer school in my mind. He gets it. he is trying to get somewhere. You are the right person in my foxhole. I can’t rest right now. I know what I am doing to myself. See how I was raised? That is why. I have to catch up now. We must make this time up. It may be inhumane. But situation is what life put me in. Go to bed at 12. Wake me up at 3am. I need my support group to say wake up. Get the stuff done. Support 41:25 Support can goes lots of way. I support you in things u do. And things u don’t. I don’t want support in all things u don’t do. I want support in things you do do. My reason on earth 42:55 I believe I was put here to help others go through dark times. When you have almost reached a pinnacle, you never will. Lessons are not learned at the apex of a mountain, they are learned in the middle, beginning. Hence I became knowledgeable. Quitting [ Now is not the answer. Wow] 44:35 When do you quit? I have a list. I go through every option, exhausting every choice. I go through every fucking scenario. Beyond that, think how can I link 2 things in a list to help me succeed? [Fascinating] Pair things up in your list. I have tried any option. Then maybe this is not for me. But, nobody does that. So, answer to your question, is almost never. Because no-one has patience to do stuff for years. People don’t have patience. 46:30 People want things now. And now is not the answer [wow] Self 47:40 I had people who were waking up at 3pm. Had no goals. I sat there for too many years. That becomes who you are. My big regret is not building my self up fast enough to get out of the dungeon. Feelingness [ Wow. Epiphany. Print this off now] 52:15 Nothing is learned at the top of a mountain. How to get to where you are? I became Feelingness. I mean turn your feelings off when you want to be better. When that alarm clocks go off, your feelings go away. It is cold outside. That is when feelings go away. 53:35 I wish I was going home to my beautiful family. Yes that is true. But you have to shut off your feelings if you want to achieve greatness. I am talking about the grind. When you are grinding, your feelings have to go away. [ Wow. Epiphany. Print this off now] Hindsight and Reflection on his life 54:00 MM: Is it worth it? This feeling of achievement? A lot of people say don’t be like him. My message is not for everyone. 55:30 Money: Is it so bad a person has millions in the bank? Is it so bad a person has 2 of the best books of all time? Is it bad a person has been in the NAVY, Army Ranger, Delta force training, Air Force, Smoke Jumper. Is it bad that by 47, I am trying to find what to do next because I have achieved everything I have set my mind to? If that is bad, I don’t want to know what good is. It is exhausting. Retired 57:00 I am 100 percent retired but I live like I am not, by choice. Most people don’t have choices. I worked my ass off. Now I have choices [Jerzy Grigorek: hard choices, easy life. I would change this to: harder choices, easier life]. I don’t need your money. But it is my choice. I always knew David Goggins is my own boss. Game Changer 59:00 You are not a G-C if what I said offends you. Money 59:20 My price is so high in all I do as I am a game changer. This is just too valuable. Thank you for this wonderful video Michael ! From William Jones

Fantastic interview. You could see David was pouring his heart out because the interviewee had done he's research and the questions were laid out perfect. Also if you look closely behind David there's a third copy sitting at the top of the shelf along with Can't hurt me and Never Finished.

This podcast, literally, rewrote my mind, and the order it functioned. Bear in mind, I have more intelligence, than the average kid in my generation(that being, as you are, aware Generation Zero). I only have one thing to state. Thank you for every you did for this country, MCPO. Even if, you’re honorably discharged, you will be a legacy in time, that cannot be dissipated. Keep being you. Even though they are individuals, mocking the line’ Who’s going to carry the boats, and the logs, what does that even mean?’ I know what you went through, in hell week, they do not. I used to be mocked wearing combat clothes, when I was a child. I had great respect for people for people like you.

Absolutely amazing. Love this guy and how his mind works. Your mind is so powerful use it strategically wisely and nothing can touch you. That's what I have learnt to do and it has not only helped me but SAVED MY LIFE.❤

I watched another one of David's videos earlier today. I had just eaten a lot of food. I was so motivated by it, that I went straight outside training. Great great man👍
