Surrounding oneself with friends and family members who can be of support and even motivation at time ks critical, connecting and making healthy business relationships can help you avoid pitfalls or even help u out of them. Its also good for mental health too to have people who love you and support you around.

The military taught me about being "An ARMY of One". Initially, this seemed contrary to what the ARMY stands for, however, I soon learned that although you are a team, a squad, a platoon, a company... The greatest battles are waged within. You must be prepared to be the last man standing on the battlefield. Your greatest challenges will be what you wage inside. I always had the Lone Wolf mentality. My sports were martial arts, gymnastics, powerlifting, and competitive bodybuilding. All are mostly highly individualized. I am a musician and artist, so I am very independent and self-motivated. Always have been. I Rarely need input from others... and that input is often negative so I say fuck it and do my own thing. In the gym, I used to burn out training partners due to my sheer insanity when I trained. I have had bodybuilders/lifters who flatly refused to train with me because they observed my work ethic and insanity, particularly in the squat rack. NO ONE will ever push you like you will once you master your emotions and mind. If you find a "team or partner" who can match your energy, great! But always be prepared for them to fall off... and they will.

As a recovering addict we're told that just because we finally broke the habit (for the first time), it doesn't mean everything is going to be sunshine and roses from then on. Possibility of relapse is INCREDIBLY high with recovering addicts. However, many of them/us that do relapse take it as a HUGE failure and it hangs on our shoulders and minds and most times take that as an excuse to _continue_ failing, to stay on that path of failure. As cliché as it sounds... It's not about the fall, it's about getting right back up. People will fail, we fall back into habits, into relationships, into acts of self sabotage we can already recognize. THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S "THE _END_ OF ALL THE HARD WORK I'VE DONE UP TILL NOW". Get up. Get up. Be real with yourself. Learn from your experience. Get up. Get up and try again. _Get up._ Getting up is easier said than done because as a person who has made excuses for years already, who've programmed our brains and emotions and actions, it's easier to think of that failure as "the end of all my hard work" and that's it. I'm still trying to reprogram my brain. *Just understand* if you stumble, the benefits you've gained yourself can be taken away in part or in whole, that doesn't mean it's the end of your life. That doesn't mean you _can't_ to get up and try again. It's not about the fall, it's about getting right back up. Please remember that. Stay safe, stay strong. 👊

20:20 I lost everything. Had surgery on my foot, laid up on a couch and lost my 14 year relationship. Had to sleep on my parents' couch for 3 months. Now I have my own house that was empty which is now full with house hold necessaries, formen of my crew, a personal trainer, discipline, self-respect. Neck injury, got laid up unable to work, lost my 8 year relationship, found out I have heart problems and went tens of thousands of dollars in debt and lost everything that I had. What worked for me might not be for everyone, but here is what worked for me - I made a decision of what I was going to chase, and I chased it. I became okay with the idea of being homeless and willing to die for what I was going to chase. I became okay with the idea of "if this doesn't work, I'll just end it". Then, every single time I had a thought of "this is too hard", or "I can't do this", or "this isn't worth it", I just took a breath and told myself "fuck you, work harder. Nobody cares how bad you have it and nobody will remember you just a few years after you die. Work harder or go ahead and end it now." And I worked harder every single time. It took me 2.5 years, but I am the envy of the lazy and the victim-minded now.

Life is about balance and being adaptable. Speaking from experience, I grew up in a strong family unit, but my parents always reminded that there will be periods in my life where I will have to be self reliant and dig down deep to access the God force inside us all. But I also understood that having a supporting cast around me was just as important to helping me develop as a human being. Not a supporting cast that would be an echo chamber, but a group that would empower me, but also constructively critic me to keep my feet on the ground.
