Hey @Ben did you know you can iron your softbox with a standard clothes iron to get an even softer light? You can literally iron all the wrinkles out. The trick is to put a damp towel on top, which gently steams out all the wrinkles without melting the plastic. I swear it looks better! You should make a video about it.

I've got one question: In your headshot parts, there's the corner of the room right behind you, while on the live stream demo, your setup is parallel to the wall. You can just turn it sideways, the mount on the light allows it to be mounted either way

Thanks for the video. I have a question question. The AVerMedia capture only supports up to 1080p correct? The CamLink which I have will capture up to 4K at 30FPS.

My AverMedia card does 4K! I used the cam link up until I got a new computer (the cam link wasn’t compatible with the new computer)

I'm curious... In your intro cut scenes you had (at least) two setups.. one with a mic in the shot and one where I presume the mic was boomed overhead. What's the reason you have two? And, why would you have it in the shot, if you can get good audio with a mic boomed out of frame?

I use different mics for different things. When I stream I use the Shure Mv7 and have it in frame to get it as close to me as possible for clear sound. In my regular videos (including the talking head shot in this video) I use a zoom H6 and position it at a similar angle as my livestream set up, as close as possible but while being just out of frame, I don't boom it. I use a wide lens which allows me to get super close

I’ve commented before that I’ve been sitting on my Sony A7IV for over a year (toxic thoughts). I finally started to play with it this week. Sunday I plan on doing my first livestream. Thanks for all your content! I have a question. I live in the boondocks where internet is low quality, any suggestions on what type of recording I should do, I’m assuming 4K is out of the question.

I'd go with as high quality as your internet will allow. Will probably be some trial and error to figure out what you can manage... did you go live on Sunday??

I ran into a few problems at the location, I didn’t to a test run prior and when I was there I could not for the life of me figure out how to put the camera on the tripod or the mic on the hot shoe. I figured out the tripod problem last night but it looks like there might be a cover on the hot shoe that I can’t figure out how to take off 😂. So I’ll look into that today.

Correct, you don’t need it. You also don’t need to have the rgb tubes. If you want to add an outline of light around you then either will accomplish it :)

May I ask one last question, in terms of using the tube light in the background do I still need to be strategic as to where I place it for rim light purposes? For example can I have 2 in the background for as practices and colored lights would I need another for a rim light or will the 2 in the back do the trick? Last question what colors are best for rim lights I know white but I also see you used a blue ish color or it doesn’t matter at all?
