i found out about this by myself because i was experimenting with cheese. i didn't think to use a pan, and i just tossed cheese together and microwaved it. microwaving is more chaotic tho, as you get all the oils from the cheese and you have to use parchment paper.

I remember years ago when my sister didn’t know how to cook that well, she once made these when my parents were away taking my grandma to the airport. We were both little kids (she’s 5 years older than me) and she made these since she didn’t know how to make much. I was crying a lot because it was my first time being home alone with my sister and that’s why why made the cheese leather. She offered me an omelette but I am a very picky eater so I refused politely and chose cheese. She called them ‘cheese crackers’ and I would beg her to make them because they were yummy. We watched Hilda and just ate. It was very memorable and this just brings me back to it.

I hope you know that this is not a new thing at all my family has been doing this for so many and it's not even our original idea it's called a cheese crisp look it up. there is even a whole snack brand dedicated to cheese crisps called "whisps" they just make it on a smaller sized chip thing so it has holes in it but yeah if you look up "Cheese crisps" you can find "Cheese leather"

I remember when I was a little kid, my father used to make this, but with different cheeses, such as dried mozzarella, emmentaller and other varieties found in our country, with milder flavours, good melting points and slightly saltier (the chesses were called Caș, Telemea, Burduf). They taste just like cheezits if you do cheddar. One very, very easy way to do it is to sprinkle some finely shredded mild cheddar cheese into a pan on top of some fries, put your oven on broil, and burn that cheese! It tastes amazing, especially with some hidden valley ranch. 😊
