Watch this easy recipe for how to cook the classic Oktoberfest meal: Crispy braised pork shanks! We cook with plenty of vegetables, German beer and stock for an intense sauce on the side!
Ingredients for 2-3 persons:
2 pork shanks
salt for rubbing the shanks
2 carrots
2 onions
4 cloves of garlic
1/2 liter of Pilsner beer (19.2 fl. oz.)
a bit of stock (vegetable / chicken / veal...)
bay leaf
freshly ground black pepper
For finishing the sauce:
a mix of flour and water (2 parts water to 1 part flour)
freshly ground black pepper
a splash white whine vinegar
Serve with cornichons / sweet & sour pickles and boiled potatoes
