Awesome piece! Just make sure she practices plenty manipulating that safety upon drawing! I'm sure you know this already. @makshima85458 жыл бұрын
Short answer: Contact someone like Midway and ask them. It's a compact 1911 in 9mm. 1911's are like the model T's of pistols, except 9mm isn't as popular a caliber and this format (Officer size) increases the scarcity. That being said, several manufacturers (Colt included) make or made 1911 guns in 9mm. I think Colt's current offering is the new Agent. Been a while since I read up on these, but back in the day, Colt had several compact 1911, like the Officer and Commander. I believe the Ultra Carry II is based on the Officer's frame. I'd look for magazines compatible with Colt Officer in 9mm. I think Springfield Armory also made a 9mm Officer framed model. I'd consider installing bumper pads for 2 reasons. First, they help seat the magazine more firmly, especially under pressure. Secondly, they help to protect the magazine if you eject them to the ground during run and gun drills, etc..

Who would want to counterfeit Kimber Products? The stonewash magazine was just made at a different time with different stampings. Companies do little changes all the time and I doubt Kimber magazines are worth more than from any other manufacturer. I never owned a Kimber but from what I've seen on YT alone makes me want to stay far away from their overpriced products. I would have bought a genuine Colt instead.
@cutlerylover8 жыл бұрын
its a question of counterfeit mags in general not saying a specific type is faked and others arent but I have seen $5 counterfeit knives that the real ones cost $20, lol thats why I asked, it just seems like it was less quality than the other one even the spring made noise...

Sweet gun, for sure. I like the wood grips on this model. Tomorrow I pick up my first Kimber, the Stainless Target II in 10mm. I think they sport similar finishes but the TII comes with the rubber grips, and they do feel nice in hand. I may upgrade the sights to some Heinie Slant Pro Straight 8's, thats about it except for more magazines. I bought a relatively inexpensive magazine from Brownell's (Which I believe is their own brand, not sure if they manufacture it) and it seems like a quality mag but I'll test it and see.

Hey cutlery I carried same model kimber in .45 when I worked gang your correct about the mags. They had changed suppliers around 04 so you probably had gotten a package second that was on shelf from original outsourced mag supplier. I don't have holster but highly recommend the horse hide crossbreed it will mold to the gun a lot better in the long term and really retain the finish. It's also very comfortable once you get it broken in and formed. Carried it for 3 1/12 years.

I tried to keep track of my rounds through my Wilson Combat 92G Brig Tac and have totally failed to keep it like you are doing. Hey Jeff, I just got a Vedder Holster Lighttuck for my glock 26. I would recommend this holster because of its low profile, adjustable cant in either direction, as well as 3 different carry positions (high,medium,low). This is my second holster and I love it. My first was the Galco Kingtuck and that felt like I was wearing a beseball glove down here in Florida. They make the Vedder Holster for all different guns and im sure they make it for the kimber. Just my 2c

Hi Jeff! not to nitpick but I think you meant 38 super not 38 special when talking about 1911s in other calibers. I'm not aware of any 1911 designs in 38 special except maybe the Coonan with lighter springs than the 357 magnum setup. Although it differs from the 1911 design slightly. Thanks for the great videos! I hope you guys enjoy the guns. I've been wanting a Springfield range officer compact in 9mm. Very similar gun with the short grip but a slightly longer barrel than the kimber. I like the profile of the longer barrel because it looks more like a 1911 scaled down vs a stubby barrel cut down version.
You are correct, and I did see that article before I commented. But that's not a current production handgun and a rather rare one at that. It also uses specific wadcutter 38 special rounds so not really compatible with off most off the shelf ammo today. 38 super is a much more common configuration in 1911s and several manufactures still offer them.

I see it as two different missions. No gun does all tasks well. A pillow/night stand gun has one requirement. Always work even if it has been months since last touched. Size is not a consideration. So from my perspective an N frame revolver works just fine. A carry gun however is handled much more often. There is a size consideration because you have to both carry and conceal it. So for me it would be two different guns.
