That "red guy" in the first post-credit scene (he's actually purple) you have no idea how mind-blowing it was to us comic book fans (the theatre i saw it we all went "Holy S&*%!" because we knew exactly where this entire thing was gonna lead up to eventually.

Yep. I grew up on Marvel Comics and knew exactly who Thanos was and how dangerous he could be. I had no idea he was going to be in the post-credits scene. When he appeared, I was like, "Oh no..... I do love that scene with Loki and Natasha, because we get this moment where it's very clear she outsmarted and outplayed him, having discovered his plan to use The Hulk against them all... ..except that when Natasha tells everyone about it, the team is divided on what to do, tensions rise even higher, and The Hulk is released... exactly as planned. Thanks to Clint, he has plenty of information on all of them. Loki allows her - and us, as the audience - to think he's been beaten, when in reality, Natasha has done the exact thing he wanted her to do.

Yes. Loki's Play - Tensions raised because Loki got them together and then turned on his scepter which aggravated their emotions against each other. Hulk is by far the most susceptible to this.

"I don't think they should be fighting each other, though..." This is a fan-service tradition. In the old days, comics would have a few pages devoted to answering readers' questions, and inevitably many would follow the theme "Who would win a fight between ___ and ____?" Or "Who's stronger... ", and so it was always fun to see plot-compatible reasons for a face-off between favorites.

I'm not thrilled with the deleted scenes showing Ashley and the cop; we don't need the "average person's perspective" here and IMO it clutters the story. Good cut, I say. What I dislike losing are the scenes of Steve Rogers being so very alone, leading to his being at a cafe and sketching where Ashley comes to take his order and they chat for a bit, and then once she leaves, Stan Lee chimes in from the next table with "ask her for her number, you moron!" That is a MUCH better Stan line than the one at the end, which was clearly tacked on once the original scene was cut. Ah, well.

So the waitress (Character name: Beth, played by Ashley Johnson) was part of a deleted scene that takes place very early in the movie where Steve is outside at a restaurant in front of Stark Tower, still trying to acclimate to the modern era. She comes over to serve him, it get a little flirty, she tell him to take his time and goes to check on other tables. Then the guy behind him puts down his newspaper to reveal the original Stan Lee cameo, and he tell Steve to ask for her number. Fun fact: the buildings behind her when she says "Captain America saved my life" is where I work, and you can also see it in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Spider Man 3 (from Tobey Maguire's trilogy)

To add to this, the point of that scene was supposed to create a story arc where the people of New York's perspective was showed to the audience, turning setpieces into people who matter. You can see moments sprinkled through the movie where ordinary people stand up (literally, in the case of the old man) and are, for a moment, the heroes. The way the movie depicted the people who were a part of these events as mattering raised my opinion of the movie beyond what it would have otherwise been. The way that random people in superhero movies are treated like they don't matter was something that always turned me off to them, but this series of movies really became a paradigm shift in how that was handled.

Loki's Play is a variation from Marvel Comics Avengers issue 1 (Sept 1963). In the comics, Loki tricks the Hulk into destroying a railway line. His goal was to draw Thor in to try and stop Hulk - and cause them to do battle. Other super heroes got involved as well (Iron Man, Ant-Man, & the Wasp). Loki's plan was exposed along the way. The group formed a team to defeat & capture Loki. They worked so well together they wanted to remain a team. It was the Wasp that came up with the team's name "The Avengers". MCU's LOKI'S PLAY: Releasing the Hulk. Loki's scepter was the tool to do this. It was artificially aggravating everyone's emotions. Getting them angry with each other keeps them from acting as a team. More importantly, aggravating the Hulk against the rest of the group would really be a problem. Even though Black Widow managed to pull Loki's Play from him, he still managed to get under her skin. This came to light during Natasha's conversation with Hawkeye after his "recognitive calibration". NOTE: Loki is the God of Mischief and a master at manipulating others. Loki did want them all together so it is debatable if Black Widow actually tricked Loki, or if Loki said what he wanted her to hear. What Loki said caused Natasha to converge the team around Banner & the scepter which was when Loki turned the scepter's "aggravation mode" on.

You asked what can change the Hulk back into Banner. Well, getting him to calm down always works, but that is not an easy task. Not everyone can do it. In the comic books, powerful magic has changed him back. One time Spider-Man said something so funny that the Hulk started rolling on the floor laughing and the next thing you know he's Banner. But no one has been funny enough to recreate that moment, so it may have been a one time thing.

If the only two people he's ever missed was Hill and Romanoff and they both happen to be when he was under the mental influence of Loki. Maybe on a subconscious level he missed because he didn't want to hurt them. And before you say anything about Nick fury, he shot him in the bulletproof chest, probably knowing he wore it instead of choosing to shoot him in the head. Again, supporting the subconscious decision not to actually hit or kill on the people he cared for. Just a theory.

32:56 - An early scene that was cut from that final version had Steve adjusting to the modern era. Near the end of it, he sits at a coffee shop kind of lamenting his place and that waitress talks to him, attempting to cheer him up, not knowing who he was.

Ok after 6 reacts here is my thoughts. I am enjoying your reacts. I love that your background is simple and not super busy with a lot of props and stuff. The light effects were a good idea. I also love that your not turning the volume down so low on the actual movie and that you change ot up a little from full screen with you in the circle to the small rectamgle and stuff, i think it helps keep them from getting to one dimensional if that makes sense. You are doing this 100% correct in my opinion, not that my opinion matters. The dog is super cute...lol... i am looking forward to continuing the MCU saga with you and whatever else you decide to do. I personally have been waiting for someone to do reactions to the transformers movies. Oh yeah, the chokers are a great accessory 🤣🤣🤣.

Despite what some claim, Widow & Hawkeye are normal humans, just highly trained & capable. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) is another SHIELD agent; look upon her as Fury's XO. This is the first movie where the actor actually played the Hulk via motion capture, and they modeled the Hulk's face after Ruffalo's. He even has body hair now. 😏 The waitress is part of a sub plot that was later cut. If you recall, Steve is also an artist. He spent a lot of time sketching scenes from one of the restaurant's outside tables, and that's how she met him. One of the cut scenes has Stan Lee at a neighboring table leaning over to say "Ask for her phone number, dummy!" 😄 So when Cap jumped into the bank to save the hostages, the Chuitari ripped his mask off, and she recognized him. That should make more sense of the last clip that stayed in. I wish your editor had left in Loki's last line: "I believe I'll take that drink, now." Classic Loki. Next up: Iron Man 3, Thor: the Dark World, and Captain America: the Winter Soldier. Small spoiler: from now on, Tony suffers from PTSD after this, along with his unassuaged survivor's guilt from the first movie. He's a hot mess.

@@CristyReacts Yes. I'm watching your THOR reaction right now. Did you know that Kenneth Branagh (the director, well he's also an good actor, but he's not in this) wanted to rename Thor's Hammer Mjölnir? Someone wise said: "NO, that is what it's called in Nordic Myth." They work that into the film, with Dennings character having problems pronouncing Mjölnir.

But I WILL say that AOS has a hugely dedicated fan base and we’re always looking for more AOS reactions! So I’m sure you’ll get more subscribers from those fans if you start reacting to the show, but that’s just my take. 136 is a LOT to take on and might not be worth it if you’re just focusing on the main MCU stuff.

The comment about courting death with the smile is a nod to the comic books. The character is in love with Lady Death, the personification of death in the universe, so courting death is to him a major plus. Btw you are building to End Game.

Great reaction to a great movie! Clint and Natasha are the Avenger parents. They are "only" S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents, if extremely skilled and highly trained ones, but their purpose seems to be to keep the difficult and bickering children (i.e. the rest of the Avengers) working together more or less as a unit. I like that, in the MCU, Hawkeye and Black Widow have this backstory together: he was sent to kill her but he made a different call. And the loss of Clint to the control of the staff Loki wields is a huge loss for the Avengers because he's not there to help Natasha steady and stabilize the group. Yes, I know, it is very obvious that Hawkeye is my favorite Avenger in the MCU. 😛 The death of Phil "His first name is Agent" Coulson was so well done, and so heartbreaking. He was a great everyman hero character, one who was willing to do what was needed and sacrifice himself if needed for a greater cause. His special power was just being willing to sacrifice it all for the better cause, and I hated to see him go. 😞 And the blood-spattered Captain America cards and the "I guess he never got you to sign them." was extra heartbreaking. Fury's a manipulative cuss, but he's effective as heck with it. When Clint and Natasha have that scene after she knocks the -shit- Loki out of his head, that was certainly a "What is their relationship?" kind of scene, but it came across different than a romantic thing. It was more close than romance, if that makes sense. Closer than siblings, closer than spouses, it felt like so much more. And I loved that it was different from all the other male-female romantic pairings in the MCU to date. This is why I decided they were the Avenger parents. Maria Hill is so awesome. Smart, capable, and a hell of a warrior though she's much more valuable than just for her great warrior skills. That big battle was an awesome set piece. And don't bother trying to rank them top to bottom. It's too difficult to do. I have my top five, but it's more a tier system than an actual 1-5 system. And yes, I teared up at this movie, and I'm said to be a heartless, bitter, mean old man.

36:15 that's the difference between "(super)heroes" and "soldiers": heroes will try to minimize loss of life by saving as many civilians as they can while slowly working towards the ultimate goal, soldiers will focus on achieving the ultimate goal as fast as possible. They'll leave civilians to fend for themselves, but in the end could save just as many lives.

Very beautiful and emotional movie! About the movie rankings, rather than making a plain list, you can make a TIER LIST. This way you can say "movies XYZ are my favorites (tier 1), and movies ABC are my second-favorites (tier 2)." This is a more accurate representation of how humans feel about things! Don't need to have ONE winner, or only ONE favorite food. Keep up the good work!!

In the comics the "Big Red Guy" at the end (don't worry, you'll see _much_ more of him) was a worshipper of (literal) Death. While that aspect is largely subverted in the MCU, I presume the Chitauri are basically rage-zombies--they certainly _look_ the part---so their collapse upon the destruction of the mothership makes sense. (In a deleted scene from another film down the line, a certain space-faring smart@$$ mocks the Avengers for not doing this at the very start of the invasion because "everyone knows" the Chitauri weakness.) The MCU has already established spontaneous pan-galactic travel by this point with Asgard, and later we'll see that it's pretty common outside Earth, so the portal had to be just a strategy to keep the Chitauri mothership outside the immediate war zone so it could conduct its blitz in relative safety.

Being an old comic fan as far back as the 60s it was with real anticipation waiting for the MCU. Sad to what it is becoming, but from Iron Man to the Endgame it is all very satisfying. You have a lot to look forward to with your reactions. By the way, I missed this and so apparently did the censors, when Loki insults Natasha in the interrogation scene. He calls her a "mewling quim". Look up the words. Not at all a very nice thing to say to a lady.
