Wild strawberries is a very beautiful movie about time and love. Doesn't really matter which ingmar bergman movie you watch first. They're all incredible. Persona, wild strawberries, and seventh seal are must haves. Definitely one of the greatest directors of all time. No criterion collection is complete without seven samurai. Another Japanese Drama that i highly recommend is Ugetsu (there was not 1 moment that I got bored in that movie; seven samurai is just a little longer). You should watch sex lies and videotape with your girl. Fantastic movie on sexual spirituality that was Steven Soderberghs debut that won Palme d'Or. I love Michael haneke very much. Ill watch whatever he's made.

Thanks for the shout out. I’m infatuated with True Romance. It’s more of a film for us Gen X’ers. I once dressed as Clarence Worley for a Halloween party and my girlfriend at the time was Alabama. I used to have two fish named Clarence and Alabama. And I have some merch from the film. I’d kill to have it on Criterion. I’ve even partially envisioned a prequel for Gary Oldman’s character Drexel Spivey showcasing how a white guy from the suburbs eventually becomes a drug dealing pimp with dreadlocks that thinks he’s black. If I ever come up with the money I’ll have you direct the film. I don’t play the lottery so it will have to be through criminal means. Maybe I can marry a prostitute and sell her pimp’s cocaine after I blast him. I can’t even name another Tony Scott movie off the top of my head except for Top Gun. It’s okay Carlos. I can tolerate ridicule of my favorite film. Plus I deserve it after my extremely long, mentally unhinged scathing review of The Tree of Life on your review of The Tree of Life. As well as my condemnation of everything Wes Andersen and Rian Johnson. 🤣🤣🤣🤝

@@TheMisfitPond It's not a musical as we know it. It's a different style. More dramatic. I do not see it as a musical at all. It's not like a Fred Astaire sort of musical. The movie presents the ups and downs of a theater director/choreographer who tries to direct a musical.
