I'm also a Brit who has just started learning on a Cabri, so really enjoyed this video. I'm pleased to see you were super critical - by giving so much instructional advice, your student is going to get the very best from his lessons with you. Keep up the good work.

Reference @ 7:30, Understanding the importance of reading heat and wind signatures while flying aircraft, I'm wondering, if this Helicopter's engine had more power, would it matter that much to take in the effects of those heat and wind signatures. Enjoy your Vids, learning all about Helicopters, especially the Training aspect as well as the Scenery in your neck of the woods! Thumbs Up!

What is the red limp rope in the windshield in helicopters?
@MyFavoriteDisease4 жыл бұрын
This is called a yaw string, it's a poor man's inclinometer. It visualizes the airflow around the helicopter and is used to display slip angle.

Hello gd evening I just got a question about what you call the collective on the helicopter is the collective the same thing as the throttle of it just curious okay thanks have a good day and bs and bc too thanks I'll ttyl now
@mikepapadelta32595 жыл бұрын
The collective controls the pitch of the blades so increase collective to go up drop it to go down. On most helicopters the collective also has the throttle attached to it.

When hovering, shoud you always decrease the throttle to some value? Can you do hovering with 100 % throttle?
@pavoln4 жыл бұрын
It is always good to hover (or do any other maneuvers near ground) with less throttle, because that way you have a backup if something goes wrong. That is also why we do the Power check. Theoretically hovering with 100% is possible but it is not safe.
