As a big fan of Scru Face Jean, his music, his reactions, and his personality as a whole, I give my honest opinion on his world wide cypher 2 and why I think it was a poorly made final product. I think the rapping itself was great, even outstanding for many verses. But I think there were a lot of problems:
The beat, the mixing, the discrepancies in the lyrics, not having the name of the rapper who is rapping, the order of each verse wasn't coherent, the beat might have been a bit overwhelming, the rappers were not consistent in their video style and quality either.
That aside, the strongest verses imo came from Murkemz, Ty Wild, and Scru. Lyrically everyone seemed to have showed up, although I believe the Rustage verse was out of place.

If you are new to the channel, welcome! I post reaction videos to songs, especially in the rap and hip hop genres. I want to share my appreciation for rap with others, while helping newcomers to the genre understand and appreciate the art of rap, whether it is the sound, bars, flows, rhyme schemes, or writing itself! My goal is to expand our pallets and learn to appreciate the different ways in which rappers attack their songs. Hopefully you are here to stay, and can sit back and enjoy songs with me in the future!

Please read the description! Hopefully my criticisms make sense, I want to see Scru's music pop off because he can write, rap, come up with cool melodies, and has a great voice for this type of music. The audio mixing and the video editing need to be done by someone else because it's holding him back. Please share your own thoughts. Do you agree?

Hey man, great reaction and I think you did a really good job giving credit but also pointing out the flaws (also glad you agree with me that Femboys of Anime is the superior cypher). A couple note on the content in the cypher: Apparently Rustage's verse was supposed to just be an experiment in how much meaningless stuff he could throw together and have it sound good (my understanding based on Shwabadi's reaction). I think it was less obvious because he had some really good bars mixed in with the random ones. Scru's part about "KZbinr caught talking bad on the blacks" is a reference to nerdcore artist None Like Joshua, who apparently made some racist comments, doubled down instead of apologizing, then had a video surface from several years ago featuring even more racism (and possibly other hate speach). I'm not on Twitter so I don't know the details, but Darrnell Bradley did a Twitter Talk episode about it, so check that out if you want the full story. Regarding your reaction: I generally agree with the feeling that this could have been better if it was put together right. As for favorite verses, I think Mari edges out Scru for my top 3, with Dizzy probably rounding out my top 5. To me, the video editing stood out as one of the most lacking areas. I don't care so much about inside vs outside, although I do agree that a couple of the videos were pretty lazy (Void's and the parts of Nunn's where he's clearly reading the lyrics, although to be fair Rustage did that on WWC1), but I think that the rest at least played well to the camera. It's more the other things: wrong or missing lyrics, no rapper names (Nunn Nunn gets hit hardest because his social link is apparently HungerGamez), choppy transitions, and the first half of DPS' first line just being completely cut. From what I can tell, Scru did the video editing himself, although he apparently had someone rough cut it so he could put out a reaction to it (if you watch his reaction, it's not the same video you reacted to). It feels like he just did a quick pass of editing and didn't bother going in depth, if he wanted to do a blind reaction, then hire a video editor. I think that same desire to react to it on camera probably hurt the mixing as well: since he didn't want to hear the verses, he couldn't give input on verse placement, beat alignment, dynamics, etc. I don't know if Joey mixed it, or if he hired a sound engineer to do it, or if he did it himself and just strung everyone's submissions together, but whatever the case, there did seem to be a lack of unifying creative vision. I think the dynamics were a notable issue for me, and it felt like for the most part the beat had very little work done to match it to the individual performances. As you pointed out, the alignment of the beat with the vocals also felt off, especially for me at the start of Scru's verse where it feels like he's off rhythm until he says "lifted off the kitchen floor." As for the beat itself, that's apparently a pet peeve of Scru's: he doesn't like beat switches in cyphers (he mentioned it in a recent reaction, it might have been his reaction to Femboys). Personally I think that held the cypher back since it forced everyone into a single mode, whether that's where they work best or not. I know that at least Shwabadi per his reaction didn't like the beat and felt like it didn't fit his style at all, so he just made the best he could out of it. Overall, as you said, generally good verses but held back by inconsistent quality and subpar presentation, although I do think it was an improvement on WWC1.

I just got caught up on None Like Joshua, thats messed up. Yea I liked Mari's verse as well, I think I'm just a sucker for the type of bars scru said on his verse. I wouldnt blame anyone picking one over the other there. He talks alot about what new viewers and listeners will think when he reacts to other artists. For such a big project in wwc2 with a ton of new eyes coming in, there's almost no reason to release it this scuffed. It just leaves new viewers with a less than ideal first impression. I know I'm being hard, but it's coming from a good place. I want him to do well

Good reaction, decent breakdown and fair critism. The cypher could have been put together in a better way sound wise and also the lyrics is typed wrong and timed wrong sometimes. I also feel like putting Rustage comedic verse after Ty Wild was the worst combination possible
