Not sure for shear. Critical Section is inclined, as shear stresses, in italian classical text, not vertical. Max Shear stress is at the centre of rectangular section, so your critical section should be at d/2 not at d. More you must consider that max shear stress at the centre is 1.5 times mean value. Where i wrong?

This must be from some other code I'm guessing. ACI code says to take critical section at distance d

1.Can you please tell that what if i takes a critical section for shear at the point of max. Shear force. Is the design wrong or it is only uneconomical but ok. 2.what should be the critical section if the beam is over hang from one side with 2 supports and a udl over the whole span.
