There's some really neat design decisions here, but one of my favourites is making a rapier's base stat Presence. Means martial classes have more reason to bump that stat and means you can have some fun with making the charming, Robin Hood-esque warrior of your dreams. As a wider point, I'm just a fan of using stats from across the board to power the weapon mechanics in general!
@davidskidmore344210 ай бұрын
I agree, it's great that there are weapons for every stat; and many of the stats have options for both a normal and magical/spellcaster weapon.
@Ezullof9 ай бұрын
yeah except that in practice you really don't want to do that with martial classes. DnD4 tried to do that (classes relying on two main abilities) but it didn't work. What will happen is that martial classes simply won't use rapiers at all. In the end, every character in this kind of game is defined by one main offensive ability, and sometimes one main secondary/defensive ability. You don't build a martial character with points that are a bit everywhere just so they can use rapiers.

I like that you can really pick and feel the difference between the two. The unstoppable tank who takes blows but shrugs them off versus the quick and nimble fighter who deftly evades every attack.
