Honestly I was so afraid Fjord would get downed first and early on cause that feels very on brand and even though Travis is a really good sport, he seemed to be having so much fun I didn't want him to die early. Thankfully the tides turned almost immediately and Fjord got the comeback he deserved. I honestly didn't expect Scanlan to die so quickly and especially didn't expect Beau to pretty much singlehandedly take down Vox Machina.

In any case, that battle will certainly be as exiting and entertaining as this fight was.

The idea of the Percy/Molly switch like this is actually so fking genius. It accommodates the odd number of players while making it so neither team is unfairly balanced. The gem gives the regular team members something to fight over as a boon, and the odd man out still gets to play the whole time without feeling like they are unfairly beating the other team. You don't force Tal to sit on the bench nor give him a reason to feel bad for making the fight unfair. His job is to fuck up people, the others get to fight over who he gets to fuck up/how.

I think the biggest issue here is the fact that players can get knocked out permanently. If they ever do something like this again, the knocked out player should just respawn. It makes it less punishing and also means players are more likely to go for kills as it isn't game ending.

There's so much brutality that's borderline beyond the Mighty 9's personalities. I love it. Fjord almost dropped Pike into lava. Bau ripped Scanlans throat out. Jester used a 4th level healing spell. Insane how far these characters have come when thrown into a demonic fighting pit.

The way I see it, "Thunder Beau" is what happens when the one who normally only has a small percentage of her kills be against other humanoids ends up going full Cobra Kai. No mercy. Otherwise, no, Beau is nowhere near as ruthless as Fjord would be.

Ok hear me out, when Beau went "You?!" when she saw Molly, and his response was "What did you expect?", made me think that this Mollymauk is from a timeline where Lorenzo never killed him, he survived and kept adventuring with the nine until he got to the level we see in play here, so his confusion to why Beau is surprised to see him is because to him, he practically sees her on a daily basis, so there's no reason for anyone else to have shown up.

@@iamkrohn Even if he had that Yasha still wins because Grog straight up can't kill her by himself for 1 minute (10 rounds). if she uses her wings to move out of range and uses healing hands to survive the end of her rage she can go in for a second rage which would give her 20 turns in which grog can't kill her. zealot barbarians are fair and balanced

What I found really impressive about this fight was the way the Nein worked as a team to take down each VM member individually. Mollymaulk dispelling Scanlan was amazing. I wish he was on the field for longer. We only just got a taste of what he can do.
